Buchanan was saying that we, as Democrats, and Kerry, have to hold the Chimp accountable for this war. Now, he just meant that we need to push people to vote him out of office.

But, imagine in the debates John Kerry saying something like this:

"Mr. Bush, you started a needless war under false pretenses, which has since turned into a quagmire, all the while Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden strengthening themselves. The American people need to hold you accountable- and I don't mean that they just need to vote you out of office."

****Should Kerry threaten Bush with prosecution if he loses? That certainly would rattle him, don't you think?****

1. I'd modify it slightly...
"Mr. Bush, you surrounded yourself with advisors who have misled you throughout your term. Every step of the way, you have made decisions taking this country down the wrong path and you have yet to hold any one accountable. The American people are holding you accountable on Nov. 2nd."

Bush never takes responsibility for anything. Kerry needs to drive home the fact that it's the people Bush has put into power with him making the ultimate decisions.

IMO, that would be a home run because it reminds voters that it is the entire administration he has put together. I've run into people who don't want to believe that the President of our country could be such a failure and continue to want to give the benefit of the doubt. I've been successful in getting those people to really think about things when they consider it's bigger than just Bush.

(hope that made sense :) )

3. quagmire?
I wouldn't use that word. It's too elitist. (yeah, I know, so hit me!) But seriously, if he wants to reach people, he needs to refine his communication. Quagmire = bad; Mess = good. Unfortunately, our nation has "dumbed down" to the point that an eloquent vocabulary misses the mark.

See? That's why people like *. He's dumb - like them!
(as a preacher, I learned ya gotta talk simple to make a point.)

Ever visit Kerry's website? Or read the official press releases? They're verbose. I like what he's saying, but I don't like the way he says it. That's why people loved Ronald Reagan, and why they called him "the great communicator." (Reagan content:0, language:10).
