Gallup has Kery up by 6. 50-44.

Everyone breathe.

P.S. Is this site cataclysmically slow, or is it just my machine?

Today they are relaxing tonic

We will win Michigan. If not, I'll be following gov and senate races much more than presidential.

14. Thanks! I'm so sick of hearing people give up! They are letting the repuke
noise machine control them! The Media has lied about everything else so why not lie & say Kerry is not doing well? Kerry will win if people show up to vote on Nov.2
Put this angst into work & register voters, canvass etc...

Kerry is probably MUCH further ahead.

Because, we KNOW that their agenda is the same as in 2000: to defeat Kerry just like they tried to defeat Gore by rigging the polls in *'s favor, especially on CNN.

They just want to give the appearance of non-bias in this poll. They will soon be back to their manipulative ways.

Whenever someone on CNN or in fact virtually any of the cable media outlets reports that a new polls is coming out and reports that someonbe is ahead, invariably, people go straight to the "media whores are going to support Bush" mode.

I knew the results of this polls much earlier in the day, but had no links to it, so I kept my mouth shut. There is simply no way Bush is going to win a state that has a very heavy percentage of its population in urban areas. Kerry has a very very strong lead in every city in Ohio, but he tanks in the rural and suburban areas, so depending on how much of the population in the cities get out and vote, and what percentage of Ohio is urban rather than rural or suburban, Kerry could easly be way ahead in Ohio without any of the pollsters reporting it, as they do not weigh their polling contacts by where the greatest population is. They call and equal number of people in every region of a state and so the rural areas get a far greater representation in polls. When you see polls from places like Cleveland or Cincinnati, Kerry polls far ahead of Bush and has done so even during the Republican Convention. A lot of polls have been skewed by this factor. Same thing is happening in Missouri. Kerry has a big lead in the large cities in Missouri, but for example, if 60 percent opf a states population is in 4 cities, they do not arrange for 60 percent of the randon calles to be assigned to be random calls in those cities. As a result, the areas with smaller populations are over sampled.

21. We will carry Oakland county
I have been canvassing Ferndale and phone banking the surrounding communities in the southern part of the county.

Take my word for it, precincts that went 60-40 for Gore are going 75-25 for Kerry. And I have heard that we are running even in the Birmingham-Troy area. If that holds up, we are in great shape.

24. Oakland county is not the GOP bastion it used to be
Gore carried it in 2000, and Granholm did in 2002.

I think the real key is Royal Oak. It's been slowly tipping our way the last few elections, and I think we will have a big breakthrough there this year.

30. YAY! That is a confirmation on what would seem logical.
Kerry will get Gore voters, and more. Why would anyone who voted for Gore, vote for anyone else. And the Dems are so much more energized than the Repubs, that there's no way those previous polls could have been correct.
We won in 2000, and we'll win in 2004.

I can't imagine the relief when this nightmare ends!

31. I didn't think we were in trouble in MI from the get go; so, no this
poll doesn't surprise me. Now, if only WI and PA would look better. We can't afford to lose any Gore states. I cannot understand what has happend in these two states. I won't breathe easy until I at least feel we are going to get back the 2000 blue states. Any new numbers on these two????

32. WI will go Kerry. Count on it.
Even the staunch repugs are relatively silent. The Milwaukee media is in frenzy mode....and hardly any * signs in places you would expect them. All pretty good portents of things to come.

Be sure to watch the turn-out for Kerry tomorrow in Madison...it will be packed! (And Nader is coming there the same day. I predict 3 balloons and a pet goat will show up.)

36. good point! LOL! It's hard to tell with Milwaukee, eh?
I've noticed the tone and volume of MKE radio (WTMJ) has steadily risen in the last few weeks. I think they suspect they're sunk, and are desperately trying to save the Titanic. MKE talk radio is excessively right wing, and not at all representative of the city, or the state, for that matter.
