What's been your favorite part of today?

I've been smiling all day - but hearing our new President say "We will restore science to its rightful place" made me stand up and cheer!

Of course, I am a biologist so I might be biased. :D

What about you??? :bounce:

6. Before he walked out....
..... he walked to the doorway leading to the front of the capitol with his head held so high.

It was the kind of thing I might make fun of is I was a wing-nut, call him a snob.

But he has earned it, he owned the world at that moment and he KNEW it.

It was beautiful.

She was in complete, total tears.

Looked like Obama had to almost turn away from her, for fear that seeing his lil' sis so moved by the moment might get his water works going.

It was such a sweet moment.

I'm ashamed to say that I fell asleep waiting for it but managed to drag myself half-awake to watch his inaugural speech. But I've got it all recorded so it is all good -I'll watch it in full later

I've been watching a brief video of his swearing in ceremony on YouTube though and I must say that watching him being sworn in and the band playing "Hail to the Chief" with the gun salute just choked me up -and I'm not one who gets emotional easily

Believe it or not, I know many of my friends -even those working -were planning to wake up and watch the inauguration ceremony. All our TV networks covered the inauguration live and some of them were still covering it this morning

It's a very big thing here, like it is throughout the globe

On edit: I don't remember the Australian television networks doing this for Bush
