3. My kids got to watch in their classes, too.
The principle of the elementary school sent out an e-mail basically saying that he'd been bombarded by requests from parents for their kids to be able to watch the Inauguration. That sure didn't happen when Bushie got in.

4. Some Other Observations:
There were several kids who spontaneously prayed (silently, bowed head, folded hands). I let them; it meant so much to them. It was all I could do to hold back
my tears.
The pic next to the flag is MLK. I've had it there for years. I'm having another poster laminated too, one with a pic of PRESIDENT OBAMA and the words to (most) of his election night speech. It is titled : "This Moment".

I'm curious about other educators' experiences today.

5. Another Note,
We watched this inauguration on faux news, of all places. They had the best live feed. CNN had a facebook link, which many schools don't have access too. Social networking sites are rarely available in a public school. MSNBC's site wasn't working too great either, and we don't have cable here (although it is coming next year). I wish CNN would have thought better of having a facebook video link. I'm sure there were other schools across the country that had trouble with it.

P.S. I'm going to D.C. in May with a group of high school students. I'll keep you posted!
