2. I will NEVER understand Blair... as long as I live...
Bush* is obvious. But, Blair was not a stupid man. And, early on, it seemed that Big Dawg Bill Clinton was encouraging him to ingratiate himself with Bush*. Did Blair just take Clinton too literally? Or should Clinton and Blair be on the psychiatrist's couch? I will NEVER understand... :shrug:

4. I want to believe 9/11 confused him & he felt the world itself was in danger & just felt like he was
the "news" by being B*shies best bud out there gettin' the terrorists! If that's not the reason, then he's complicit in faking a war to make money from it.

7. One of history's great disappointments, Tony Blair.
He could have been great. Instead, he became complicit in the mass murder of a nation.

8. They have something in common that you might not expect.
Edited on Tue Jan-20-09 02:47 PM by kenny blankenship
It's not what they believe but the way they believe it, and how they arrived there.

I don't think the coincidence can be overlooked.

Both men are mid life religious converts.

That doesn't say anything necessary or definite about what they believe or will do, but it suggests rather loudly to me that these are two men who cannot live with doubt. They need doubt and gray areas burned away by a bright light.

They become certain, for somewhat different reasons in Blair's case, that there is something that they must do, and then they wish away the probable consequences and widespread disapproval with the sick fantasy that Providence smiles on their project --and they become unstoppable forces of destruction.

9. Establishment, establishment, you never know what's best....

Brian Griffin: They want me to contribute to The New Yorker.
Stewie Griffin: The New Yorker? Oh, you'll fit in there as well as I did at Woodstock.

{cutaway to Stewie at Woodstock}

Stewie Griffin: Uh, excuse me, it's been brought to my attention that a few bad apples out there are smoking marijuana. Uh, I've got news for you, my friend. Marijuana's illegal. Not cool.

Alright then. {Begins singing, to the tune of America the Beautiful}

Establishment, establishment, you always know what's best...
Man in audience: You suck!
Stewie Griffin: Learn the rules!
