She was raised in a religious family, went to religious school, etc. I've never seen a Jewish fundy, and now I have.

And now this is her final thoughts on Chimp:

"I'm going to miss President Bush"

I commented that he's a scumbag, and the rest of the 22%'ers showed up and tried to shoot me down (there were a couple of liberals) - one even denigrated the media as "liberal" - completely laughable.

"Israel will miss Bush" - I guess they ignored the fact that Israel has rejected him completely and is embracing Obama.

Then I decided to remove her from the friends list.

One more friend gone, will try again in 6 months with her and see how she opines with it - the scary thing is she works for NIH.

1. My childhood friend that I found after 20 years...
recently became a fan of "temple marriage". She's a Mormon and an avowed conservative. My Facebook states I'm an "atheist, or the very least, agnostic". It's sad, but I think her religious shit is going to come between us. All my other friends are ecstatic for tomorrow, but she is silent. Dear god, I love her, but she probably voted for Bush twice and then McCain. :(

3. My childhood friend and her husband and I
NEVER discuss politics. I love them both dearly and rarely see them, but they think I'm a moonbat liberal (they're right!) and I know they're hopeless red, red Republicans. But they're both funny and interesting folks otherwise, so we e-mail, talk on the phone once in a blue moon, send Christmas and birthday cards and get together every few years. It's all good.

2. Sadly, there are fundies in all arenas of faith. Many of the orthodox Jews
that live in my neighborhood care only what is best for Israel, and they have been convinced that Bush was "Israel's friend". It is very sad, and there is no talking to them about it.
It is ironic, since the reputation that us Jews have had thru the decades is of being very liberal.

4. Oh, Hawkeye! You scared me!
The subject was truncated, and I thought you were going to say remove from life support.

This does suck though. I've had to distance from friends too, and it's never easy.
