Poll question: Hey DU, what are YOU doing tomorrow? and where?
I know that there are several kinds of invites. Some lucky folks are invited to certain parties. Others (like me) got engraved invites to the inauguration. Still others are simply showing up in DC to celebrate. And finally, most of us are stuck locally, unable to travel because of family, work, money, illness, or other factors. SO, let's see where we are and where we will be on this very special day - one day after MLK Day, we get a new president. And what a president he is.

I will watch C-Span with remote in hand to catch an occasional comment from the pundits on CNN and MSNBC.

4. I voted other. My work is having an inaguration party.

The projector in the conference room is showing the inauguration from 7am PST to about 10 am. I usually go into work around 9 am (noon EST), but might try to be a few minutes early that day for some odd reason. :D

7. Wasn't sure how to answer this one
Because I'm heading to a local party and later, a gathering of local Dems at...a local bar. So local party it is. But no matter, At the precise time that Barack Hussein Obama takes the oath of office, I'll probably run out into the street and yell at the top of my lungs. Yell something like "THE NIGHTMARE IS OVER!"

8. I've got a ticket, but I cannot go.
instead, I get stuck in court with a client who does not listen to my advice.

But, I will find my way back and celebrate with relief.

10. I'll be staying home glued to the tv........and here ;-)
Crying? Most likely. This is the most emotional election/inauguration I've ever experienced. When I woke up this morning and had a thought....for all these years since sitting and watching those devastating 4 Days in November 1963, I will have now watched 4 Days of Joy in 2009. Maybe the past can finally be put to rest.

12. but we cannot forget the last 8 yrs, and we must hold
all those responsible, pelosi and reid included, accountable. AND we have to be vigilant to insure that no Democrats in office misbehave. We have too much work to do and cannot afford a scandal.

18. Yep.
I'm doing two jobs for the price of one (someone got laid off, and her position was folded into mine) and I'm damn glad to have a job.

I'll take a break at noon eastern and see if there's anything interesting on TV.

That's how far we live from the Mall and if the traffic's not moving and the Metro's too crowded we might be walking the whole way. Anyway, THEN we'll be watching Obama on the big screens :headbang: and taking a thousand pictures.

22. Yeah, me too. I usually eat at my desk and read the tubes. We've got a nasty
content filter which blocks almost all video feeds. Too bad for the man that I found some news video feeds that sneak by it. ;-)
