3. Their only recourse is pray because Obama will be a very successful President
a new Era is upon us, and after eight years of darkness, finally America has awakened and expelled the failed Presidency of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

I can't remember any president with any thing like this, even Reagan wasn't this universally popular.

10. Be careful what you pray for.
If you're not pure, that prayer will come around to you first and foremost. Our next President seems to be pure (I'm not saying he's perfect, but his intentions are pure), so they are in for one hell of a karmic smackdown.

can't remember his name but that is what that triggers in my head, probably no accident to his listeners

20. That would have been Clayton Williams, who ran against Ann Richards
for TX Governor.

First off, God doesn't honor "prayers" like that. And secondly, if we succeed or fail, it's as a country, TOGETHER. Only an idiot would pray for their own destruction due to their blind hatred. And that's exactly what they're doing. Idiots.

24. Right you are. Thanks
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clayton_Williams

Earlier, Williams made an infamous joke to reporters, likening bad weather to rape, having quipped: "If it's inevitable, just relax and enjoy it".<3> In addition, it has been claimed that as an undergraduate at Texas A&M, he had participated in visits to the Chicken Ranch, a well-known Texas brothel in La Grange, and the Boy's Towns of Mexico.<4><5> His sense of humor was again demonstrated when he urged Hispanic Americans to support his candidacy because he met Modesta in a Mexican restaurant. As a result of his reported comments, Williams was occasionally parodied, such as in the mock political ad, "Satan Williams," which appeared on Dallas/Fort Worth public television during the 1990 campaign season.<6>

22. Failure is not an option at this point.
Thanks to great Bush experiment of unregulated capitalism and massive government debt we now stand at the brink of insolvency. And they want Obama to fail?

There is no margin for error left and if Obama fails we'll all be in the house of pain. How do they not get that?

BTW it's funny to recall the churlish lectures about "patriotism" and "united we stand" as we tried to stop Bush from driving the bus off the cliff. The arrogance and hypocrisy is really breathtaking sometimes.

23. Notice the threat here:

Time to refresh the tree of Liberty, IMO.

4 posted on Sunday, January 18, 2009 5:52:03 PM by PubliusMM (RKBA; a matter of fact, not opinion)

For those not used to Freep-speak, RKBA is a reference to the Second Amendment, and the "refresh the tree of Liberty" bit is a reference to the Jefferson quote, "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

In other words, this is a direct call for bloodshed.

Never mind Bush spending like a drunken sailor with nothing to show for it, while not raising any revenue, creating this huge debt and deficit...
