Please do whatever you can to help President Obama succeed...P L E A S E
Edited on Sat Jan-17-09 10:02 PM by SeeHopeWin
I am sooooooo fired up about President Obama...I honestly think we are making history, we are changing this country right here, right now.

President Obama will lead the way, he will be an excellent President.

I want to encourage ALL DUers and ALL Americans to do what they can to help out...Our country needs ALL of us, right NOW. We may never get another chance.

I happen to be a CNBC addict, all financial pundits...etc. talked about an Obama stock market bounce, the markets need confidence and they need clarity in direction. Let's face it, we are ALL betting on America (we should be), most of us are in the market in some way, 401K, IRAs....etc. I DO want us to make a comeback, I do want the markets to reflect Obama's optimism about our country and about our future...I encourage you to participate.

My wife and I decided to buy all of our 2009 retirement accounts investment allocations in one day this year, we decided it is going to be Tuesday January 20th!

I don' think we are doing something crazy here, the markets are down enough, it is a good time to buy, we have the money set a side...etc.

WE ARE BETTING ON AMERICA, WE ARE BETTING ON PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA! We are putting our money where our mouth is!

Please join us if you can...

P.S. Tomorrow, I plan to fly my (Huge) American flag...And put out all my Obama campaign signs...

2. First thing comes to mind... remind Congress who is in charge!
They're going to get a lot pressure from their Corporate donors to pick up where the repukes left off. We need to remind them who votes --

WE THE PEOPLE!

10. For the first time since 1996, we have a legally-elected President
I will do whatever I can to make sure that his first term in office will not be his only term.

God speed, Barack Hussein Obama. Your nation is beyond anxious to watch you take the oath and assume the Presidency.

11. We all should be doing what we can to help Obama succeed.
The alternative is grim.

There are many ways to pitch in, depending on our circumstances, and what has deep meaning for us as individuals.

12. I'm proud to be a member of a grassroots Obama volunteer group
Edited on Sat Jan-17-09 11:23 PM by protect our future
that's holding a food drive to be concluded on Monday, the National Service Day. After that our group will find other ways to help with community service projects and there's no way I can uninvolve myself. It feels SO GOOD to be helping in whatever tiny way I can, and I urge everyone to be a part of this. Like I just said, it feels SO GOOD to be helping Barack, however I can!

I took my yard signs down right before Christmas in respect to red-state relatives coming over for holiday dinner, but back up they will go as soon as the ground decides to thaw. My neighbors still have plenty of Obama signs on display and I'm proud to rejoin them.

15. I've been as much of an activist as I'm able to be since 2000 and I shall continue
Edited on Sun Jan-18-09 11:37 AM by lunatica
Because it's simply the right thing to do. I went to every anti-war march regarding Bush's wars. I've written letters, responded to OPs, corrected journalists when they would say Bush won the election in 2000, blogged till I got callouses on my fingertips, and talked to everyone who would listen. I also signed online petitions and regularly get emails and updates from activist organizations from political and human and animal rights groups as well as environmental groups and when I can I donate. I am a regular writer to politicians both to praise as well as criticize.

These are the citizen actions that over time made a difference because it sure wasn't the media. The blogs are our soap boxes and we ordinary citizens used them to good effect, because their power comes from us.

So, yeah, I'm there with what's right. I support President Obama but I will dissent when I feel I need to. I expect and hope he wants it that way.

16. You bet I will - I will call him out when he continues to do the WRONG things
like all this anti GBLT bullshit and capitulating to the right wing assholes that got our country into this mess in the first place...!!!

That's what will certainly help this country SUCCEED...

Keeping your head in a hole when obama does WRONG will not "help" my country "succeed" at all...

17. My knee-jerk response is of course, then...
I reflected on our(almost :-)past administration...wondering what I (or anyone) could have done to have improved the outcome of the past 8 years? The 1st thing that came to mind was to have campaigned more vigorously for Al. Our new President already has me engaged in the next 4/8 years...Still I like to review to see patterns of potential disaster to avoid for the future..
