My SO flew First Class today, and listened to the wad next to her complain that Obama isn't American
She has a serious physical problem (fixable), and this was a business conference. She was OKd for First Class (one Mimosa in four hours. Sad). Anyway, some rich dude sitting next to her struck up a conversation - the usual where are you going, where are you from, oh that's nice. After he had four mimosas, he started to complain that Obama isn't a U.S. citizen. Ohmigod, a FReeper. Anyway, she shut him down by saying she disagreed, and that she wanted to read her book. Then she turned away. Class. And he got off easy (I know).

But, I also know that if some asswipe would dare to say such things sitting next to me - emboldened by mimosas and living in the bubble of Fox News, Hannity and Limbaugh - well, let me just say, I would have disabused him of the notion that he can say such drivel to decent people without resistance. And that resistance from here on out is his fate, and his destiny.

Probably just as well I wasn't in that seat. And holding a piece of piano wire. These clowns have gotten off for 8 years thinking they can say anything they want to decent people. That, too, is W's "legacy."

Anyway, nobody says that around me anymore, and assumes I will take it. Not anymore. Not around me. I hope, not around you, too. We have cowered too damned long (DU excluded). I love the hope and change. But somebody has to have President Obama's back and say no more of this ugliness, and I'm going to be one of them.

1. Grasshopper. The goal isn't to do battle with your enemies, the goal is to win.
Sometimes that will mean doing battle. But more often it won't.

You confuse winning with fighting.

4. There is no confusion. And we lost the last eight years.
Your attitude reflects why. They impeached Bill Clinton for lieing about a blowjob, but the Dems took impeachment off the table for Bush lieing us into war. And death, and destruction.

Yeah, you lie down. I won't go further into any historical analogy. Too ugly. I suspect you know what I am talking about.

5. I would suggest that holding bush accountable for his crimes against humanity isn't equivalnt to
telling your seat companion that their mother wears army boots.

Your spouse informed the person that she didn't agree. That was powerful.

Would she have changed the persons mind if she yell at him?

10. He's drunk. It's not like he'd be a reliable witness in his own defense.

Seriously though, don't do that.

13. Actually, that changes it. He has a job to do and he's drunk? Get his ass in trouble.
What happens if, God forbid, there's an incident on the flight requiring him to perform his duty and he's too sloshed to do it? Absolutely complain to the flight attendants, though skipping the whole "He's making bomb jokes" bit. He's a danger to the passengers and crew because A) he could become an armed belligerent drunk and B) he could be totally useless if the need should arise.

16. Then he probably needs to be removed from his job anyway. They're supposed to remain as low-key as
...any other passenger on the flight as to not draw attention to themselves. They're also not supposed to inform flight attendants of their presence to avoid being pointed out by them during a hijacking.

9. She could have replied that McCain's citizenship literally took an act of Congress.
Congress had to pass legislation to finally settle the issue of citizenship for the children born of US citizens on foreign soil. McCain was technically Panamanian for the first 17 or so years of his life.

14. Don't you just love how these morans never were concerned about
McPanamian's citizenship?

They demanded to see Barack's BC, but never McDope's and those of his PARENTS, which were necessary to prove McIdiot's citizenship!!!!!!!
