From 2005:

(Warning: This is comedy. This is not a political manifesto, in any way a reflection of reality, a statement about women, teeth or a slam on our President Elect whom Bell seems to have admired before it was cool.)

1. The Daily Show did one way back in 2004.

The humble origin-off back during the 2004 DNC, back when Colbert was still a correspondent.

7. A political *manifesto*? No. No where near, but for comedy to be timely...
poignant, relevant and all the rest of that; it's best reflective of reality, or the backside of it like Steven Wright or Emo Phillips have been known to contribute. Or at least something sitting on the tip of someone's brain of not their tongue; which is the way it's essentially defined: a comic is able to voice something people were already thinking was odd or funny, but didn't have the balls to say themselves. My X wrote pieces for In Living Color, I've seen the back & forth about what wasn't funny for that matter. Still, and Michael Richard's bizarre display notwithstanding: just try to let comedy wash over you until it doesn't, or more to the point...

Will it still be funny if & when the tables are turned  Bell is a funny guy though

10. I always enjoy Kamau because he pushes on stuff people won't touch.

He's got great stage presence and can take his audience just about anywhere but, he goes there. Maybe one of about 6 SF comics that I'd walk uphill to go see.

Plus, he's the World's Biggest Sweetheart even if that isn't on the label. :)

8. Ha! I think I'm still more shocked we have a president named Barack Obama than one that's black.

Am I the only one?

I could see a black president.

But one named Barack Hussein Obama? Not in a million years.
