I hate to put such a huge burden on Obama, but...
I have astoundingly high expectations for his inauguration address. I'm talking history book quality here. Memorable passages and quotes that become part of our lexicon. I am prepared to be utterly engaged and when it is over, sit back (I will have subconsciously leaned forward as I have been drawn in) and barely be able to utter a "wow."

Poor guy. I hate to do this to him, but somehow I think I won't be disappointed. Call it a hunch.

1. I am putting that burden on Obama also, but he I think knows it.
I'm with you; I plan on sitting back and finally exhaling. Might even have to wipe a tear away.

2. I think he should sing it.
Oh, wait, that's John Ashcroft.

And you are probably right. Obama can turn and twist a phrase with the best of them, nd he's darned good at developing his point, as well.

3. I just hope...
that he and his staff have come up with some good one-liners. JFK and FDR's inaugural addresses are famous mainly for memorable one-liners. Obama can give a great speech in his sleep. I have no doubt that he will give a great speech. But whether it will be remembered 50 or 75 years from now depends on if he has memorable one liners. I hope they've got some really good ones in there.
