Inauguration Protests?
I see a group got a permit to protest for the arrest of Bush in front of the FBI on inauguration day, but has anyone heard about any anti-Obama protests? There seemed to be more protesters than celebrants at the last inauguration, at least in the area I was in.

1. You can bet...
...that Fred Phelps and his band of incestuous monkeys will be somewhere in the crowd; spewing hatred.

I HIGHLY doubt that there will be any formal anti-Obama protests as they would be met with swift reprisals from the crowd - I certainly would not hesitate to throw water on anyone that was out there protesting our new Man.

3. I was at that one too!
It was so cold I couldn't even think, I got on the wrong side of the street and couldn't get back to the ANTI-Bush crowd so I ended up watching the parade surrounded by mostly Bush-lovers. I had 5 or 6 anti's near me though, they were dotted all over the crowd, you didn't have to look far for a sign against the war or torture or something. I was close to the parade so I gave him the finger, that's what I really went for anyway, even though I didn't end up with the protest crowd.

If I see any anti-Obama people I'll get their pictures.. for the public shaming :headbang:

5. Here's a list of all the Protest Sites
Westboro Baptist Church!! Gawd what a bunch of assholes. The other "official" protests aren't really protests against Obama so much as Peace Demonstrations.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/inauguration-watch/2009/01/want_to_see_a_protest.html?wprss=rss_blog

National Japanese Memorial Foundation will be at New Jersey and Louisiana avenues (where the memorial is located); about 75 people will ring a bell to encourage world peace.

The Westboro Baptist Church (from Topeka, Kan.) will be at 4th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, about 15 people, they have an anti-gay, anti-military focus.

A pro life group called the Christian Defense Coalition will be in front of the Canadian Embassy at 5th Street and Pennsylvania Ave.

The Arrest Bush folks will be in front of the FBI building on Pennsylvania Ave. between 9th and 10th streets. They expect 3,000 folks to join them, though that figure is not confirmed.

James Cook, who is there in support of the Bill of Rights with bewteen 50 to 250 people will be at 9th Street and Pennsylvania Ave.

The Coalition for Peace will be at the northeast corner of Lafayette Park near the White House.

The Washington Peace Center will have a march starting at 7 a.m. from Merdian Park, south on 16th Street to McPherson Square.

No worries. They'll never be able to top this, January 20, 2005:
