Edited on Fri Jan-09-09 03:39 PM by IWantAnyDem
Another Friday where there was a Birther case before the SCOTUS conference. Another Friday with no Cert granted:

1. It took me a while to figure out what you were saying
"The Birthers failed to get cert again today" would be clearer. I thought for a minute the morons were "no Birthers" and SCOTUS had decided today to hear the case.

3. Yeah, but we're coming up on days with multiple Birther cases
so to clarify, I need to add "cases" to your subject suggestion.

7. Birther = Birth Certificate Cultist
The cultists who have propogated the wild assed conspiracy theory that Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen.

11. Here's an example of a post on Free Republic just today
BACK STORY: Orly Taitz has brought a case before the SCOTUS which is scheduled for conference on January 23 (3 days after the inauguration.

To: kellynla
So if SCOTUS rules that nObama is not eligible to serve, Biden becomes President, and I suspect Clinton the VP nominee. Then for some reason, illness, age, or possibly even death, Biden steps down or is no longer able to be President and ......
... We get Hillary as President.

Conspiracy ... perhaps, but I'm going to wait and see.

“Biden becomes President, and I suspect Clinton the VP nominee?”
not so fast...
if Hussein is proven ineligible, then his election is null & void...we didn't elect Biden to be POTUS. This is unchartered terrority so there "might" have to be another election...

I forgot to mention that “if” Hussein is proven ineligible then McCain “might” then be POTUS. But like I said, this all uncharted territory.

Stupid Freepers don't even realize that even IF their half baked conspiracy theories were true, once Obama is inaugurated the only way to remove him before January 20, 2013 would be to impeach him.

17. Oh hell yeah....

They are fun to watch.

It's like having an ant farm - all sorts of frenetic activity that doesn't accomplish very much.

2. Normal procedure is this:
The certification list comes out Friday with no mention of Berg and the other stupid cases. The Birther's all console each other and some say that it is significant that no denial was issued so "the court must be considering the cases over the weekend". Then on Monday morning the full orders are issued with denial of the frivolous Birther cases. This is immediately followed by Birthers gnashing of teeth and calling of the Supreme Court by dirty names for being traitors who don't care about the constitution. (Ok, so Scalia and Thomas really don't care about the Constitution but you know what they say about blind pigs and acorns).

They are fun to watch and so predictable.

5. NExt Friday's conference will be the most fun
Edited on Fri Jan-09-09 03:45 PM by IWantAnyDem
Because the breathless waiting for the last minute reprieve on Monday, the 19th, will leave them so disappointed they'll be screaming for treasonous riots etc.

Of course, the brave warriors of the 102nd keyboard brigade will never leave their mothers' basements.

12. You got it!
That's exactly what they did with Donofrio.

And Wrotnowski

It looks like Berg's first conference will go the same way.

Coming up next, Berg's second conference on the 16th, (unless they dismiss that as moot), which means that, given monday is a holiday, that dismissal may take place the day Obama is sworn in.

After that, the insane lawyer/dentist Orly Taitz gets her case Lightfoot v Bowen heard in conference on the 23rd, same procedure as the above cases.

Broe v Reed will more than likely be appealed to SCOTUS, there's also both of Berg's other two lawsuits in Federal courts, the "whistleblower" false claims lawsuit where he's demanding return of Obama's senatorial salary and criminal charges on the grounds he's an "illegal alien", and Berg's "Hollister v Soetoro" case where you have a far-right retired Air Force officer claiming that Obama can't be Commander in Chief because he's not a US citizen........

And there's more. Gods are there more. Taitz and Kreep's lawsuit with Alan Keyes, anti-semite Andy Martin's appeal in Hawaii, Taitz's lawsuit with members of the military who claim they won't take "illegal orders" from Obama, (read, any order given), Kreep's plan to file suit against everything Obama does because he's "not the real president", and so on, and so forth.......

15. Somewhere you've got to wonder
if the SCOTUS will just get sick of it, take a case, and declare Obama a natural born citizen summarily.

Maybe they can get a District Court to do the dirty work on that one?

18. Actually, the 20th is a holiday in DC

Among the dumb things one is required to know as a patent attorney is that the USPTO is closed for "federal holidays within the District of Columbia". The reason for that qualifier is that Inauguration Day is indeed a federal holiday, but observed only in DC (because of the exclusive jurisdiction of Congress over DC).

9. He has another date before the conference
Next Friday.

And Monday, the 19th, when his case is on the denial list, his value to talk shows drops dramatically.

Edited on Fri Jan-09-09 04:53 PM by RamboLiberal
The whack job last night was claiming after (if in Berg's bizarro world) Obama is inaugurated he's going to go after him on executive decisions and laws he signs or something to that effect. Wonder how this whack job is supporting himself. Guess some of the looney tune supporters are foolishly giving him funds.

He's claiming there's going to be a "constitutional crisis" over this.

That's the lawsuit by crazy dentist/lawyer Orly Taitz. She's been lately making claims that Obama's mother and grandmother really aren't dead and has been publishing the social security numbers, phone numbers, and addresses she's been finding to "prove" her claims.

I think someone needs to file a professional ethics complaint with the California Bar, (her law degree was done at an on-line school, and California is the only state that will allow on-line graduates to take the bar exam)

Gary Kreep in California (Keyes v Bowen, along with Taitz) and Stephen Pidgeon in Washington (Brow v Reed) are also planning to sue for everything Obama does.

19. The ones to watch, IMHO

Are the ones openly soliciting insubordination in the military, or making those "some patriot should use the second amendment to redeem the constitution" references.
