Palin: Media goes easy on Kennedy
First, I think the media has been pretty tough on Caroline Kennedy, I know the folks here at DU have been so. Second, Caroline Kennedy is a class act - someone the whole world respects unlike Palin, the Wasilla Hillbilly trying to look fancy in her $150k shopping spree from Neiman Marcus.

Palin: Media goes easy on Kennedy
Gov. Sarah Palin (R-Alaska) believes Caroline Kennedy is getting softer press treatment in her pursuit of the New York Senate seat than Palin did as the GOP vice presidential nominee because of Kennedy’s social class.

“I’ve been interested to see how Caroline Kennedy will be handled and if she will be handled with kid gloves or if she will be under such a microscope,” Palin told conservative filmmaker John Ziegler during an interview Monday for his upcoming documentary film, “How Obama Got Elected.” Excerpts from the interview were posted on YouTube Wednesday evening.

“It’s going to be interesting to see how that plays out and I think that as we watch that we will perhaps be able to prove that there is a class issue here also that was such a factor in the scrutiny of my candidacy versus, say, the scrutiny of what her candidacy may be.”

Palin said she remains subject to unfair press coverage of her and her family.

“Is it political? Is it sexism?” she asked. “What is it that drives someone to believe the worst and perpetuate the worst in terms of gossip and lies?”

And btw idiot Palin - the Kennedy name has been under the microscope for DECADES - this family has been through more tragedy and heartaches for well over 50+ years in the public eye. Caroline Kennedy DEFINES the microscope that is used to judge you Ms. Palin. Perhaps because Ms. Kennedy has lived there all of her life that she is able to handle it with the grace and tact that clearly you, Ms. Palin, are unable to handle.

4. Waaah waaah waaah, Mooseburgers
When you're a vapid, mean-spirited, race-baiting asshole with an inferiority complex, what else can we expect you to do except whine and piss and moan when you have no sense of irony or shame?

Come back when you grow a brain.

9. I agree with everything you said, save one part, this woman does
not have an inferiority complex by any means.

She fits the classic example of a self-absorbed narcissist, which you did kind of secondarily note in your post.

Yes, this woman is insufferable and might I add: how is it possible, Governor Dumbass, for it to be "sexist" if you in fact do believe there is a different standard being used to judge you and Caroline Kennedy?

Doesn't make one iota of sense. But then again, nothing that ever came out of her mouth did, either.

12. It's the "class issue" shtick that jumps out
I have a feeling she's not just play-acting at the "us vs. them" faux populism where puts herself on the side of the oppressed Joe Sixpack, I think she feels inherently inferior and out of her league playing with the big names and personalities in politics, and that fuels her complete inability to accept criticism, or take responsibility for anything negative, or to be introspective and allow that she is less than perfect.

If she had any credibility, maybe I'd call it narcissism.

Whatever's going on with her, something ain't right. ;-)

17. To me the inferiority complex is obvious from her shopping spree
Edited on Thu Jan-08-09 02:58 PM by LynneSin
Maybe it's not obvious on the surface but a woman confident in herself wouldn't have gone hog wild spending $150K+ in all of these stores. Compulsive shoppers tend to have a bit of an inferiority complex - that somehow they need the right clothes to somehow justify being of value.

To me, if a woman knows what she's doing and confident in what she has to offer, she wouldn't have accepted that shopping spree or had done so in a much lesser extent. I would have been more impressed if Palin said "Yes, my clothes are from Wal-mart, I'm trying to raise a family of 5 and just like you I'm pinching pennies too" - that would have impressed the hell out of middle America.

And as an edit note - it's obvious to assume that Caroline Kennedy has probably spent well over $150k in clothing but there is a major difference. For Caroline - this is over a lifetime and the stores are a place where here family normally would shop whereas with Sarah, she made those purchases in such an extremely short period of time in a store well-above where she would normally go shopping. To me that is classic inferiority complex. And it's not saying that the 'lower classes' can't shop at Neiman Marcus, it's just the extent to what Ms. Palin did in such a very short period of time.

...on Constitutional law and civil rights issues. Oh, wait; that would require you to string together multiple coherent sentences, something you currently lack the skill to do.

In the meantime, get the fuck over yourself, you ignorant piece of trash.

Edited to add: I especially love the irony overload of a republican whining about class warfare. Sarah could use an infusion of self-awareness, stat.

13. I can see how a person of Sarah's limited capacity and experience can think this
The fact that she can't see the world of difference between herself and Caroline Kennedy (in terms of education, doing for others, public service) is sad, I think. And overly simplistic, which unfortunately is why her meme is going to resonate with other disaffected people who believe they are being victimized by liberal elites.

I still fear Sarah Palin. She has the ability to cause harm. She has the ability to take a preposterous notion and drill it down into sound bites that other disaffected people rally to, creating the perception of a shared victimhood. Don't write her off.

18. True - she'll reach out to the hate radio crowd as long as they give her a mic
It's the same old projection - blaming the overeducated elitists for shutting her out of the club and not taking personal responsibility for her own shortcomings.

It's her fault that she went through five different colleges to complete a single undergrad degree.

It's her fault that she couldn't name a single major SC decision other than Roe v. Wade, not even the one involving the Exxon Valdez in her own state.

It's her fault that she couldn't string together two coherent sentences in almost every interview she gave during the GE.

But she just keeps blaming the "liberal elites" for picking on her. And the simpletons who feel the same way just want someone with a voice to say it's not their fault that they aren't raging successes in life.

The hypocrisy of the party of "personal responsibility".

16. LOL! She doesn't even know she sounds even MORE stupid comparing herself to Kennedy.
Next time I see CAroline come out in a short skirt, too-tight blouse, saying YOU BETCHA and winking, THEN maybe Sarah can compare herself to her.

Until then, this makes Sarah even more foolish and arrogant and egotistical than she was during the election and that is really saying something.

23. Kinda reminds you of what Lloyd Benson said to the original "Sarah Palin prototype" - Dan Quayle...
Bentsen <to Dan Quayle>: Senator, I served with Jack Kennedy: I knew Jack Kennedy; Jack Kennedy was a friend of mine. Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy. (Prolonged shouts and applause.)

Personally, I think all of us know Caroline Kennedy - we grew up reading about her and the tragedies her family has gone thru so I think its safe to say that we all know Caroline Kennedy and btw Ms. Palin - you're NO Caroline Kennedy.

22. So Palin thinks Kennedy has more class?! Well, DUH!
Palin is a classless, hateful, devisive hillbilly, who thinks all sentences should end with "also" or "though." The fact that she thinks she can blame her trainwreck interviews on the campaign staff just demonstrates her level of ignorance.

30. before you talk about someone
you should learn how to pronounce their name correctly.

Sarah Palin did not pass the test with Caroline Kennedy. She has no idea how to pronounce "Caroline" (and she's not alone.... if I had a penny every time Caroline was mispronounced I'd be richer than a Kennedy).
