Thanks Chris Matthews
Thanks for the praise you bestowed on Howard Dean today...he deserves it and more. You have praised him on your program before, and shown yourself to be very perceptive. I hope you will mention how many are disappointed in the party's sorry treatment of Dean.

I don't contribute much to the DNC, but I do so monthly. But I am NOT HAPPY with some of the choices I've seen made and the party's lack of appreciation for Howard Dean so that today, I am canceling my monthly contribution to the DNC. I feel that they don't need me or us little people any more.

Biden so far is the only person chosen that I really like.

1. I agree that Dr. Dean is not getting the credit and recognition he deserves.
I am happy that Chris Matthews is pointing that out.

2. For Howard Dean to be so misguidedly overlooked..
.. by Obama is just beyond me.

He was the life of this party.

8. I've been a little busy lately, why the heck would Dean be ignored?
Next to Obama himself, Howard deserves credit for his 50 state plan which probably was a BIG reason Obama won at all - why would folks diss him?

15. My theory:
Howard Dean pummeled the Republican Party into near oblivion, right when they thought they were going to have a "permanent majority" per Rove and Co.

And Obama wants a non/post partisan Washington...maybe he fears that anything Dean touched would immediately be pounced on by Republicans for political payback.

Like I said, this is a theory and I am in no way saying this is reality or necessarily true.

16. I wonder how Howard would do --- if he tried for the Presidency again in 2016?
Your theory has some merit...

Obama is trying hard to be a centrist, but at least it is no where near being a rightie. Plus the man is brilliant.

I'd love to see Dean continue down the road in a leadership capacity.

5. Howard Dean deserves the utmost praise from all quarters, Tweety on the other hand
can kiss my Democratic ass.

Don't know what he thinks he is pulling, but stay away from the Democratic Party of Pennsylvania Tweets!

6. We need to have a big whoop and shout for Dr. Dean
Under Howard's watch...

2004: Began a crusade to build the Democratic party from the ground up in all 50 states.
2005: Promoted strong candidates, even in areas where Dems seemingly had no chance.
2006: Solid Democratic majority in the House
2006: Slim Democratic majority in the Senate
2008: Largest Congressional majorities in decades
2008: POTUS!!

Party elites may want to ignore what he's done, but we must not. Howard deserves a wild ass party.

9. Matthews has much to answer for since he practically led the electronic lynch mob
that took down Dr. Dean in 04. I lost count (as in literally lost count) of the number of times he played that clip of Yeaaaggghhhh! and tried to make a great man look a fool. And he succeeded. And he also was Mr. Swift Boat every night after Kerry got the nomination.

When you think of the suffering of the second Bush term, I wonder if Matthews ever lies awake at night and wonders how much his actions contributed to loss of life and suffering far out of eyesight.

And so now he says nice things about Dr. Dean. Big Thermos Deal.

10. I agree. It should have been President Dean. And it would have been
if Matthews et al hadn't done such a smear job of him. And yes, he was Mr. Swift Boat, too.

We owe Matthews NO thanks for what he DID to Dean and certainly none for being a hypocritical smarmy kiss-ass now.

11. Carville on Crossfire did the real axe job...
And the ganging up on Dean at the Iowa caucus debate by the other candidates (except for the lovely black lady candidate whose name I can't remember) didn't help either. The party's then leaders (and possible today's) declared Dean unelectable and Iowa bought it. Hillary Clinton addressed the caucus.

Dean had already lost the caucus when he let out the yell. I watched with tears in my eyes as he did that bit to cheer up his brokenhearted supporters - and I was so impressed with his concern for them that I went to the computer and sent him a donation...

He dropped out soon after that, and Matthews had little to do with it that I could see, and I watched political TV every possible minute of every day. Even on Fox TV the anchor said, "The Democrats are eating their young," at Dean's loss in Iowa.

12. Fuck Chris Matthews, he leads the lynch mobs
and after the damage is done he acts like he was not part of it. Why would anyone thank Chris Matthews on behalf of Dean? Do they not know how he savaged Dean during the primaries in both 04 and 08? Next folks will be thanking Matthews for praising Kerry and Gore.

I don't trust Tweety one iota. He's a bought-and-paid-for shill who never was and never will be one of us.
