((((Breaking))))Jeb Bush will not to run for U.S. Senate
Edited on Tue Jan-06-09 03:51 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
WASHINGTON - Jeb Bush, the former Florida governor and brother of President Bush, has decided not to run for the U.S. Senate, ending weeks of speculation that he would preserve a Bush family power center in the nation's capital.

Unlike his older brother, Jeb Bush left office with high approval ratings and a reputation as a master of policy. He was considered the GOP's strongest contender for the open seat being vacated by Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.).

He spent much of Tuesday calling friends and supporters to give them the news, according to one Republican close to the Bush family.

Republicans from Washington to Miami and Texas -- including Bush's father, former President George H.W. Bush, had hoped that the younger Bush would jump into the race.

Former President Bush told Fox News over the weekend that he saw the Florida Senate seat as a possible precursor to another family member winning the White House in the future.

Glad we nipped that in the bud. He would have won. I can breathe a sigh of relief now.

1. I would not trust a member of that family any further than I could throw them.
If their lips are moving..they are lying...one way or another.

2. There ought to be a law against anyone in that family ever holding
office again in the US. Let them move to Albania and start over. W is popular in Albania.

7. See - that is why a law is needed. To protect this country from any
possibility of their scourge again. Even when they appear to be harmless we know that eventually we will be harmed. Even John Ellis Bush carries the gene.

The opposition are unremarkable, to put it mildly. Jeb would have run away with it. Nor am I convinced he won't reverse his BS statement and run anyway.
