Will South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford turn down Federal money?
Edited on Fri Jan-02-09 05:05 PM by BrentTaylor
If not, He should shut the hell up.

"Borrowing money and cutting checks to fund infrastructure is not the best way to juice the economy," Republican Gov. Mark Sanford of South Carolina said in an interview. "And this notion that Washington, with a blink of a wand, can create 2.5 million jobs is strange in a market economy."

We clearly have the first guy planning to run against Obama here.

But when asked if he would turn the money down.

Although he has argued that Obama's plan would plunge the country deeper into debt, Sanford declined to say that he would turn down federal help for South Carolina if the plan goes through.

"We'll see where we are," Sanford said.

4. Talk about someone clearly thinking of running for President
Willing to refuse something that would help his own state. Just because it will help Obama politcally

6. I believe he really might try it.
I live here and was surprised he folded over the unemployment benefits.
We are heading for 14% unemployment, and he is saying he will not apply
for any of Obama's stimulus money.
There will always be fools who support him. However, he is wearing away
at a lot of people who have lost jobs and are losing more. People here
stupidly cut off their own noses a lot. When they get fed up though, Sanford
better watch out. Hell wouldn't have him.
Before the election, he made a list of REPUBLICANS he wanted defeated by his
own candidates because the others didn't support him enough. He is scarey.

7. Cut off all federal funds to red states.
Watch them burn for a couple weeks. Restore the funding only after they come crawling up to DC begging for federal government intervention.

8. Amen
Typically the traditional "blue" States send more to Washington than they get back.

10. And who will suffer in the red states if that was done
the schools, the medicade recipients, those on medicare, AFDC, the poor, the homeless. Just the folks that the repubs want cut off anyway. And if they decide not to come crawling up to DC.

9. He would rather cut social services to the bone than take federal help?
He's a cheery guy.
