Obamas Cabinet violates Normal Span of Control Limitations....
For best results....Supervisors usually have 5 to 7 peeps under their control....not 15 plus...

Most Leadership books reflect this....

Is the President over stretching by having so many reporting to him? The conference table get crowded at 10 never mind 18....

Views are diluted....ideas are crowded....and in general, comments are muted due to time and pressures.

His inner core is supposed to be his Staff, his filter of sorts...but are they? The Dilution Factor is a concern and I hope they can ably contend with it....

Otherwise...we will see some unnecessary noob mistakes here and there....lets hope, not of the fatal kind...

1. He's not a supervisor, he's the president.
But thanks for your concern.

2. Yes, perhaps Obama can control / handle it....but it was obvious Bush was overwhelmed
by having so many reporting to him....the Presidency(in terms of good administrating) ran away from him...

I am hoping this does not occur to Obama

6. I mean that it was all a show, meanwhile Cheney knew what he wanted and did it
So it didn't matter how many were around the table. Cheney's agenda is what played out at every turn.

4. "the presidency ran away from him????"
I'd have to say he ran away from the presidency and any responsibility. Doubtful it had anything to do with the amount of people in his cabinent.
