1. Down compared to how far up he was Friday, or down compared to Coleman?

2. That doesn't include the challenged ballots...
Edited on Mon Dec-22-08 10:38 AM by RUMMYisFROSTED
...which put Franken up by a couple hundred.

The summary numbers above and detailed numbers below show the results of the Senate race at the end of the hand recount on Dec. 5. Ballots challenged by the campaigns are not included in candidates' vote totals. This includes challenges that were subsequently withdrawn by the candidates. The Hennepin County numbers include pre-recount totals for Minneapolis Ward 1 Precinct 3. See our U.S. Senate page for the latest recount results.

10. This recount is playing out like one long B-Rated Movie.
We get bored and look away for a moment ... but we begrudgingly return to the fray ... it's so seedy and so long ... we must stay and see how it ends. :(

11. Those aren't current stats
That article is dated 12/15 and the results are of the hand recount as of Dec 5. Frankin has held a +251 lead since Friday and the canvassing board isn't meeting again until tomorrow, so he's still ahead.

13. You know, even if Coleman wins, it's okay
Just as long as the votes are counted completely and fairly. Much as I dislike that weasel Coleman, a fair vote count is more important.

16. State Canvassing Board's work is now delayed until Tuesday
The state Canvassing Board will wait until Tuesday to meet again to try to determine a winner in Minnesota's U.S. Senate race between DFLer Al Franken and Republican incumbent Norm Coleman.

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie said Sunday that the delay was caused by the amount of time it is taking to reallocate the roughly 5,000 ballot challenges that were withdrawn by the two men.

18. Nothing. The OP is linking to a very old number.
The number does not included the challenges that have been ruled on by the canvassing board.

24. Those numbers do NOT include the challenged ballots
That was the number from before the Canvassing Board action on the challenged ballots last week. The Trib now calculates Franken will win, once all the withdrawn challenges are entered into the mix along with the decisions on challenged votes, by 78 votes.

The Canvassing Board will report tomorrow on the new totals after adding back in all the challenged votes.

After that there are issues concerning about 100 so-called "duplicate" ballots and the counting of absentee ballots (about 1,600 I believe) that were wrongfully rejected. This may go on until early January

25. Star Tribune: Franken Will Lead Recount By 48 Votes
In the latest piece of evidence that Al Franken is the favorite to win the Minnesota recount, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune has come up with a new number for where this should end up: Franken ahead by 48 votes, a margin of 0.00164% out of over 2.9 million cast, and at the upper end of the Franken camp's own claim of a 35-50 vote edge.
