That little voice that says "What? and Oh NO"
I understand that Obama has not taken office yet. I want to retain the wonderful feeling I had on election night, listening to Obama's acceptance speech. I wanted to be totally over-the-top thrilled on inauguration day. But that little voice in my head keeps saying, "What? and Oh NO."

How has "hope and change" morphed into "what? and OH NO" so quickly?

My hope is turning into an unsettling fear. A fear that "hope" just isn't for everybody, and "change" is just a marketing term.

There has been too many negative surprises.

And that little voice is fretting now. Is that little voice gonna be saying "What? and Oh NO!" when Obama names his first nominee for Supreme Court?

I'm trying to hold on. I'm trying.

2. I know the feeling, too. Also, happy to know that I am not the only one going through

this period of uncertainty. Right now, I'm no longer "enthusiastic" that Obama won the election - remember I said "enthusiastic".

Also, have no desire to watch the Inaugural!!!

5. I don't either now.

I would have been so overjoyed to see the first black president sworn in to lead, but then he added a person to speak that I cannot bear to even look at without being reminded of when the ex-gay bunch dragged me out to a block building in the middle of nowhere and raped me saying, "All that gal needs is the right man and she'll be straight."

No, I cannot watch this inauguration now. As a matter of fact, I am having a tough time right now NOT buying either tons of dope or a gun to either blitz myself out of reality or blitz myself out of this world permanently. I cannot stand the idea of that ex-gay movement coming back into prominence again. Even Bush didn't put on that TOO much.

And to top it all off, America refuses to sign on in the UN to decriminalize simply being gay.

It's like a wound bad enough that you need medical attention, not fatal, but still very painful, and a bunch of different people are grinding handfuls of salt in the wound over and over again.

I need a drink.

7. Oh, your post!
You have expressed your deep pain very well. As a grandma, I just want to sit with you and tell you it will be all right.

I'm so sorry.

8. I never expected to agree with everything Obama does
But I never expected to be aghast at a choice he has made.

9. I'm with you there, Willa. I can't understand the choice no matter how

I look at it. And I'm straighter than straight. The only way this would be okay is if Obama stood up after the invocation and basically repudiated the guy's beliefs. I guess if I thought Obama was an extremely strong person and would be a firm leader in leading these bigots away from their bigotry, I would feel better. But I feel uneasy instead.

3. Although I will continue to speak out against this Warren Thing, I still want him to be
successful. Try to be of good cheer regarding his policies. That benefit of the doubt he is certainly due, since he hasn't even been sworn in yet. :P But this Warren thing?...FUCK THAT.

12. I will be watching via TV, but only ....
...to join those voicing LOUD disapproval of Obama's very first official act as our "change" President.
