1. I believe #2 is correct,

since this is a reasonably free marketplace of ideas. People pay attention where they want to.

2. There is too ugly of attention
paid to it. The amount is fine. The visciousness is not, from any quarter.

3. I Am Dumbfounded That Anyone On DU Would Support Bigotry
Based solely on the historical support of the Democratic party for the civil rights movement in the 60s.

That a man that owes his political success to the gains made during the civil rights movement would support bigotry is astounding.

That DUers would prostitute themselves as appeasers of this act and of Obama is also astounding.

7. I am dumbfounded that anyone on DU would
honestly think that failure to share their level of outrage amounts to bigotry.

4. Wanting to keep it positive for at least 15 minutes, a DUer will get a star!

And generally, we're gonna be all right. I voted number two.

6. Too much attention.

If it was something really important like a cabinet position, then I could understand.

But it's a 2 minute invocation.

8. I voted for #2
People can always reply in the threads that interest them more. Then they stay at the top and force down the ones they don't like. It's free and it works. If you don't like it, don't reply in it. Or it stays up top. It's not rocket science. If it really bugs you, hide it.

I see all kinds of stuff on here that doesn't interest me at all. This issue does and I'm glad we're talking about it.

9. ACT UP made pests out of themselves in advocating action on AIDS
while the country was in denial or worse, thought that AIDS was GAWD's wrath on gays.

ACT UP was right then, just as those of us appalled about Rick Warren are right that this peddler of hate should be kicked out of the Inaugural.
