Give Hope a Chance
I do understand the hurt and anger that the Warren invocation thing has caused & wish that Obama had selected someone else. But he didn't.

For me, I am just still so damn happy that we've booted the jerks out of the White House that I can't get too caught up in single issue stuff right now. And believe me, I have a shit load of issues I care passionately about.

My gosh, there was a time that I feared Americans would keep these idiot-types in office. That Obama chose Warren for his inaugural invocation pales by comparison to what a McCain win would have meant.

Bush talked about being a uniter. He was an extreme divider. I'm willing to give Obama - and his plan for Hope - a chance.

Rick Warren sucks and maybe that is an indication of what Obama will do in the future. For now, I'll give him a pass or two.

2. The way people have been angry about EVERYTHING Obama does...
...it almost doesn't feel like a Democratic Board, does it?

This Warren thing is disheartening - but it can be 6 one way half dozen the other

I'm with you - I choose HOPE
I would like to think that he has a way of bringing All together, that he means it when he says to thos RW fundie crackpots that "I am your president too"
There is much more work to be doen for me to worry about who gives the prayer at the ceremony - just get him into office already so he can clean up the MESS!

Thanks for this thread, I have been really not saying much today because the poo if flying all over around here!

4. Hope is good......
Edited on Fri Dec-19-08 11:55 PM by FrenchieCat
we need more of it.

This is just a moment in time.......it will move forward, and what is exciting is that I believe that there are great things ahead....even knowing that there will be an economic gloom.

Keep the faith.....That's all I want us to do. After 8 long years, there will be some cloud ahead, but some sunshine too.

And what is most hopeful, is that I'm usually right!
just sayin'! :)

:hi:
