Here's the gist of John Harwood's spiel on Countdown tonight.
The message to gays and lesbians is that this Warren thing is a good way for President Elect Obama to get points from the right wing...to help them like him.

That is one sorry argument. I have not gotten into the fray on this much, but that was a really sorry thing to say.

To use a whole community of people in your own party to make the extremists and bigots on the right feel better about him.

I doubt Obama really feels that way, but I was surprised they would use that argument right out loud on Countdown. Keith tried a little to make things sound better, but it did not work.

3. I forget what group he was with, but he mentioned that after 8 years of...
...an admin. that served fundies in policymaking, one of the first voices we'll hear on the first day of the new administration is a right-wing fundie. He was very eloquent.

6. Didn't he say Warren was "Jerry Falwell in a Hawaiian shirt"
or something like that?

4. Hell, I agree with Harwood.
As a matter of fact, my first thought on this is that it was a sop to the Right.

There cannot be any other reason.

12. It was Rob Boston of Americans United who spoke so well. Harwood sounded
pissed that we dared question Obama on his selection of Warren.
