I want to be proud of my president as he or she sits in the people's house, and I look forward to feeling that way when Barack and Michelle move in.

I like that Barack Obama is pro-Science, too.

I like that Barack Obama knows the New Testament better than the many fundies who opposed him. If they try to brand him a Muslim or try to subvert him because he's "too liberal," there remains the chance -- perhaps the likelihood -- that Obama would stare them down and confront them with the genuinely progressive tenets of Jesus' ministry. They'll have to know more than he does about it, which they likely don't, and if they can't smear him by bearing false witness, they'll have to slither back to their ancient caves and pout. A rare few may realize that when someone knows more about your faith than you do, the proper response is to shut up and listen, as you may learn something.

I like that we have a shot at very possibly 8 years of progressive judicial appointments.

Obama seems to me as good and collaborative and promising as Dubya was clueless and deceitful and dismissive.
