Colin Powell playing duck and weave on "This week"
He's telling George S that he should show Cheney's clarification on that disgusting statement he made about getting hit again if Merika doesnt vote for them. He's avoiding alot of questions. What the hell is the point?

1. The point is...

That the Administration is using him as their Boy Soldier.
They are trotting him out to do their dirty work.
They are afraid to show up,soooo, send Colon.

Let's think, Russet still had the most popular Rethug telling people what to believe on Prime Time Sunday Morning. The newspapers will pick and choose what they want us to read.

They still won the Rethug battle on MTP even if Colon said nothing.

2. Isn't it ironic?
After the show, Colon takes off his shirt that shows big sweat stains under the arms (he wears a dark jacket to cover it up).

He mentally reviews the show and feels really good about the answers he gave. He feels that he was able to artfully dodge the tough questions, but without looking like he was avoiding them and giving some pre-canned statement, or outright lying.

He smiles to himself and thinks, "Man, I am a statesman". I can handle those tough questions.

What he doesn't realize, though, is that the rules have changed. We're no longer feudal serfs standing around our Feudal Lord, hoping for some crumbs or some reassurances that All Is Well.

These guys have to answer to US, whether they like it or not.

4. More than any other liar in this Administration....
Colin Powell, with his lies in front of the UN, is responsible for us being in Iraq and more than 1000 dead. Because he had credibility and both Parties believed him. He lied.

5. A national resource wasted
Watching Powell on MTP, I resented both he and Bush for taking a magnificant national resource (Powell) and turning him into a spinning, disingenuous political animal.

Very articulate, making him all the more dangerous. No hint of guilt or discomfort (as McCain sometimes has). He is in with both feet.

6. Very Sad Indeed- He Used To Have A Promising Future
Now look at his legacy. He was too meek to speak out against something he knew was wrong, and is now fudging, weaseling and dodging to try to escape the reality that he has become. I suppose 20 years from now we'll have a McNamara type book from this once respected man.
