I'm sorry I don't care what the other guys did or are doing when it comes to corruption
This idea that has been tossed around here today that the prosecution of Blago might somehow be politically motivated or a Bush/GOP plot doesn't hold any water with me. It doesn't make sense. If it was politically motivated it would have come out the 3rd week of October not the 2nd week of December. It has nothing to do with Bank of America either. Bank of America cleaned up that mess on their own today the cheapest way they could.

Blagojevich sounds like a bad guy. The lowest of the low when it comes to politians. To be honest I highly doubt he's a democrat on any principle. If you read his bio on wiki he supported Reagan throughout the 80s. The only reason I think he's a democrat is because of the neighborhood he chose to run for office for and who his Father-in-Law was when he started out in politics. He was the only democrat in the Illinois democratic congressional delegation to vote for the Iraq war. The only one! I'm guessing his corruption goes way back to when he was in the Illinois state house and the US house of representatives.

The other idea that because Bush is so corrupt we should not be angry amongst the corruption of a democrat is an idea that infuriates me. Bush has done alot of evil things and the fact that there is no justice for him infuriates me. This is analagous to the torture debate. Because the terrorist will torture our guys its ok for us to waterboard people. No we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard than the other fucking guys because if we don't clean up our own house it becomes very easy for the other side to point fingers at us and tell people that we are no better than they are and if we turn a blind eye to guys like Blagojevich or Jefferson in Louisiana they are right we are no fucking better than they are.

They got this fucker on tape trying to sell a Senate Seat and bully a newspaper to fire its editors because they wrote bad editorials about him. This is Putin kind of behavior. The guy deserves to rot in jail forever for violating the citizens trust. I don't give a flying fuck what the letter after his name is.

2. Agreed
However, we do have to watch out that the other side might start screaming "look how corrupt all those Dems are." They tried that with Jefferson. What we need to do is thank Fitz for getting rid of a really bad one but stand ready to remind the Repigs that they have a lot more crooks than we do.

However the ones in our own party have to go as well and we can't bitch that you have bad ones when they catch someone in our party.

6. They're going to do that regardless. Boner has already started with
the defeat of Jefferson. They have so little to be proud of, any straw will do.

7. I was happy Jefferson lost
For two reasons.

1) Jefferson was obviously taking bribes.

2) Even thought it was a GOP guy taking his place he's the first Vietnamese person to serve in congress. My father fought in the Vietnam war and his best friend before he died was Vietnamese. I felt happy for that community that someone from their community got elected to congress.

8. I'm not disputing anything you said. But the gop is going for any kind
of shallow victory. The rethug winner was interviewed today on m$nbc: the rnc gave him minimal help in winning, didn't think he either could or wasn't worth it. So they're claiming victory rven though they had little to nothing to do with it.

3. Said this several times today
and will say it again. Blago is dirty and has been under investigation for around three years. I don't give a damn what party he belongs to and I am sure that bushco and BoA had nothing to do with it. But there will always be those who believe that it was a set up. I was infuriated at them, but in actuality, I feel sorry for them.
