Chris Matthews just pounding away at Kerry campaign
They said Kerry is flip flopping on Iraq. Bush has a huge lead, in national polls and battleground state. They are even giving Cheney a pass on his comments.
Bush handingly wins the week he says.

1. And just 2 weeks ago he was our hero on the SBVT issue.
It's all about what gets them higher ad revenues. As long as they can trash someone, that's what they'll do.

6. That's what they want people to believe, particularly Dems who...
...usually don't vote and may be discouraged from voting in November. This propaganda is all about reducing the number of people who will vote for Kerry.

12. Remember Sept 2003
"Kerry is finished" "Dead in the water" Its Dean, Dean, Dean. The media buried him them and he rose like a Phoenix. They are burying him now but I am a believer in John Kerry. He fought for this Country, bravely in Nam. He came home and had the courage to speak out against injustice. He has a ditsinguished career. He is a man of character, unlike the deceivers in the WH now. He will acheive our goal. He will stand with his head above water and he will close this campaign by winning the election. Conceive , Believe, Acheive. Have faith.

19. You're absolutely correct...
these people need a quick history lesson. By underestimating Kerry, they are placing him right where he wants to be: THE UNDERDOG. He shines in that position.

4. Chris Matthews basically saying its over.
I flipped on his show about 10min ago. Thought I had passed through a time warp to a day after the election. Him and his pannel where actually phrasing things like "What could Kerry have done to have won this thing."

What a joke our media is. They even had a talking head from CNBC... lets all go long tech too while we are at.

5. Want a laugh? *Attack Poodles and other Media Mutants* book
excerpt on Chris "Give him a real fake sun-bronzed stout-hearted man every time, such as Arnold Schwartzenegger, the crowd-pleasing, self-parodying cyborg (who in his body-building prime resembled, as Clive James immortally observed, a fistful of walnuts stuffed in a condom) whose run for Governor of California had Matthews effusing all over his lobster bib. For Matthews, elections equal erections...."

This book is a hoot!

32. James Wolcott also has a great new blog
Wolcott may be a bit too urbane for his own good, but he's consistently witty (a lost art) and ruthlessly chatty. He reminds me of a cross between Patrick Moynihan and Truman Capote.

They say people aspire to be in that 200,000 a year catergory and people don't want to have higher taxes when they get there.

11. If Kerry made that Cheney statement......
Tweety who let him have it...he would be bashing Kerry 24/7 for the statement....it is a disgusting statement and Tweety gives him a pass? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Plus, if you think about it, the statement by Cheney makes no sense because 911 happened under his and Bush's watch.....the nerve of these people! Does anyone in the media bring this fact up?

14. We must remember: Tweety is a media WHORE.
He works for GE, for decades the big corporation slurping up the dough at the Pentagon trough. They OWN Tweety, too. He just wants to keep his paycheck coming.

Hey, Tweety! How's it feel to be a presstitute? Can you even look at yourself in the mirror? You can't even call yourself a man. For shame!

Ah. I feel better.

15. Taxes...
Lol of course this panel is against that tax raise THEY are all above 200k. No no instead Americans will sit around while Bush quitely raises middle class taxes via Payroll taxes(which stop in the 80ks) or just by cutting services.

No matter what happens taxes are going to get raised in the next four years its just a question of who takes that hit.

16. Matthews Shows Are Worthless - He is in this only for himself,
playing to both sides to keep his show on the air. Think about it, what do you get out of his shows anyway. Waste of time for anyone to go on, don't get enough time to say anything anyway.

17. Because Matthews gets his instructions from Karl Rove, and
creating a perception of invulnerability is important to Rove, he will keep spouting the same story over and over again without any evidence.A two point spread in Bush's favor with a margin of error of four points somehow becomes a huge lead for Bush. That clearly shows how little these talking heads know how to interpret the results of opinion polls. But they are not in the business of logic and reason. If they were, they would express doubts about what the polls actually say. They should be asked to make a disclaimer at the beginning of each show that they are propaganda agents of the Republican Party.

20. He had that woman from CNBC on and she predicted a huge win for Bush
Chris suggested 10 points, and she said, "more!" They were all just positively giddy!

The whole panel trashed Kerry the whole time. It was disgusting. Cokie says it will come down to white catholics.

They are trying to discourage democrats, so we will just stay home in November.

21. We have to quit referring to these programs as news at all..... they are
INFOTAINMENT. Period. Who remembers Joe Pyne? Morton Downey Jr? That's all these guys are. Cable is NOT regulated, Fox had a lawsuit in their favor that tells them it's okay to LIE....and they can say all day long that they are *trustworthy* or *fair and balanced* but they are NOT.

It's like trying to take a square peg and make it fit in a round hole. We have tried to make them journalistic standard news programs and they are .... NOT. Won't fit.

22. It was stunning, wasn't it?
Here you had these pompous millionaires sitting around, laughing at Kerry and dismissing any possibility that there will be anything but a massive landslide for Bush. And not ONE WORD about the fact that 1,000 soldiers have died in Iraq -- as if it isn't even a consideration.
Well, for them, it isn't.
They still have their comfy lives, their massive tax breaks, their little gatherings with all the right people -- life is good for millionaire pundits who can spout nonsense and not even be well-informed, let alone insightful. They get big bucks for propping up that idiot in the White House, and their snouts are in the trough.

I couldn't believe they were discussing the same election. McLaughlin discussed Iraq and the possible civil war and the impossiblity of controlling it and that the US will be there for 10-20 years.

31. Tomorrow Matthews will smack down another right wing psychopath
like Michelle Malkin, making sure he surgically gleans them from the herd in order to avoid selecting someone with actual power who can hurt his career...and there will be Democrats applauding and cheering him for his progressive attitude.

Meanwhile, he will then go back to saying "Who gives a rat's ass what happened 30 years ago" when it comes to whether George Bush went AWOL or was grounded from flying, and fail to discuss Bush's National Guard Service on his shows. He will also coincidentally launch a new attack on John Kerry, analyzing whether Kerry's statements upon returning from Vietnam led to the torture of US POWs. No matter what side Matthews takes on the latter issue, raising the issue itself and even staging pro and con argument on it is itself outrageous.

Next, the Neocons will accuse Kerry of murdering a child in Vietnam. Matthews then will stage two weeks of talks on whether John Kerry is a murderer. Of course Matthews will be on the side of sanity, that Kerry is NOT a murderer in order to not appear like a whacko. However, the fact that he would devote a show to discussing the issue is what matters.

It's a nice weekend in most of America. College and Pro Football is back. Who's watching.

Hopefully in another week or two they'll be talking about how Chimpy's campaign is in disarray and the surging Kerry!
