It seems all the talking head screeds are screaming about how Saxby Chambliss's win was the turning point for the GOP which is joke because it's a Red State, an incumbant and the guy didn't even have enough votes to win it outright the first time around.

But hey, give brownie points to a team that actually tried their best to find something to cheer about.

But perhaps I'm overlooking some other highlights out there for the 2008 GOP so I'm hoping all my friends here at DU can help me find a few to add to the 2008 GOP Highlights DVD.

Post em here

3. I agree that it's a highlight for them, but I think she'll hurt them in the end.

2. The nation elected a President who's actually interested in what they have to say..
... provided they can offer some help.

Irony is grande, aint it?

6. There are no highlights. The GOP is ecstatic they didn't lose a seat they weren't going to lose.
There is no comeback, no "buyers remorse", none of that. This also was no "win" for Palin as Gergen put it. Chambliss won with the same margin as he did against Cleland and this time it was against a virtual unknown. There is a lot to be said for Obama's ground-game hold-over in GA for that reason alone.

The GOP needs to be very concerned about 2010 as well because the Democrats have an easy shot at a 60 seat majourity then, all things being equal to now.
