But instead of getting the president elect, Martin's getting dozens of seasoned Obama campaign workers.
Martin meets Republican incumbent Saxby Chambliss in a Dec. 2 runoff. A Martin win would move Senate Democrats one step closer to a filibuster proof majority with sixty votes.
About 100 people who worked for Obama agreed to come to Georgia and work for Martin's campaign.
Sarah Hunt, an Obama volunteer, is now campaigning for Martin in Macon.
"I feel that he would be some strong assistance to President-elect Obama," Hunt said. "Some of his philosophies and ideas are the same as those of President-elect Obama, and I think that would help Georgia."
Tom Ellington, an Obama and Martin supporter, said he appreciates the help.
"I do know that we've got five or seven here in town and more than 100 in the state," Ellington said. "They're graduates of the best field operation in American campaign history, and what we're doing right now is trying to mobilize the voters."
Ellington also said they're trying to get local Obama supporters back to work.
"Of course, we don't just have the volunteers coming from out of state," Ellington said. "There's an enormous local volunteer base that's being re-mobilized, and we're making calls and knocking on doors for the next couple of weeks."
Over the weekend, the group opened a Martin campaign office at 486 Poplar St. in downtown Macon.
Chambliss and Martin have tried to bring powerful people to Georgia to bolster their campaigns.
John McCain stumped for Chambliss last week, and Mitt Romney is expected to visit later this week.
Meanwhile, former President Bill Clinton will headline a Martin rally in Atlanta Wednesday.
