16. Oh, please we KNOW that THE BEARDED LESLIE is a Press Whore!
He got where he is due to his relationship with Pat Robertson. Robertson made THE BEARDED LESLIE into the Presstitute he is today! We also know that The Bearded Leslie doesn't even take a pee without asking for permission from his Republican masters!
He wasn't 'just being cautious'. He was being a nasty prick and deliberately insinuating that something could happen to Obama between now and January 20 that would alter events. But if you insist this is normal, please provide other references in the past to the upcoming inauguration of the president elect that have put that inauguration in the conditional mode.
We continue to have a corporate media that is committed to undermining and sabotaging anything they view as a threat to corporate control of the federal government, which most certainly includes the Obama administration. Are you old enough to remember the unremitting onslaught against the Clinton administration? Winning an election is just one piece of the puzzle.
He must still think that the election is still going? Maybe somebody ought to send him a memo reminding him that Obama DID win and WILL assume office on 01/20/09?
32. Maybe it was just habit from a long campaign when they had to
talk that way, For instance was clear Obama would be the nominee...or at least Clinton had next to impossible odds to get the delegates after Obama had that long win streak prior to Ohio/Texas. It was something like if she got 65% in all the remaining states she would still need over 80% of remaining superdelegates...not impossible but close to it.
Yet the media kept talking like you couldn't be sure...so it would be "if Obama becomes the nominee..." Some uncertainty in language remained until after the convention! And during the general you always talk in terms of uncertainty...even when Obama had a multitude of paths to victory (electoral votes) and McCain needed everything to go perfectly and against odds to get to his.
This was a long, long campaign where it was always "if" and not "when". Old habits die hard
