What souveniers have you saved from this election....
that you plan on passing down to your grandchildren or selling on Ebay when you are 85?

I have my stub from the electronic voting machine, with my "I Voted" sticker on it. We also have one of the early runs of the Obama Hope print. We also have all the little things the campaign sent us for contributing. The coolest is the card that Obama talks to you when you open it.

1. Newspapers, yard sign, bumper sticker, campaign pin, GOTV stuff
Blue Team Captain sign from the front of my house on election weekend.

I have a box that is yet to be closed that we are rounding up stuff to put in it. The box even came from the campaign, had door hangers for GOTV. (I have one of those too).

Now where to store all this stuff.

5. I think my husband has a stash of stuff too
Edited on Tue Nov-25-08 01:30 PM by luvspeas
but he's a huge slob and I don't go near his room for fear of causing an avalanche. It will be fun to see what he's saved. I bet he doesn't even know.

6. I have yard signs and stickers
But my most treasured souvenir is a printout of the ballot from my local polling place. It's the printout you're supposed to study before voting so you don't take too long. They had plenty of them and I thought people would be snapping them up but that wasn't the case when I was there.
Printed on it are the historic words:

ELECTORS FOR
Barack Obama
FOR PRESIDENT
Joe Biden
FOR VICE-PRESIDENT

7. My voter registration card
stamped with my vote in the primary (marked "Democratic") & then the stamp from election day (November 4--even though I voted early). I'm going to frame it with a HOPE postcard I picked up somewhere along the way. :)

8. I ripped the "NO MCCAIN!" bumper sticker off of my car at 11:30pm...
..... on the night of Nov. 4th and went to throw it in the garbage. My father said, "NO! DONT THROW IT AWAY!!!" .... he's not the sentimental type. He didn't say WHY I shouldn't throw it away, but I decided to just wait.

It's still sitting in my box of paid bills ..... in four pieces.

My mother has also been buying ANY magazine that has Obama's pic on it .... ANYTHING ..... when she came home with the Obama issue of "Cat Fancy" I told her she was getting out of control.

23. A picture of me shaking hands with President Obama
Edited on Tue Nov-25-08 06:28 PM by Jake3463
:-)

Chester, PA the week before the election. Getty Images snapped a shot when he shook my hand when he came out to speak. I stood in the rain and 40 degrees for 3 hours before the speech. I would have stood for 8 knowing I'd get that picture. I bought an 8X10 for my office at work and a 12X14 for my house.
