1. I doubt it... the story broke kinda late...
I'm betting they already had their show and skits planned out before... I also don't think Tina Fey wants to do it anymore.

2. She said that she was through with Palin when Obama won
She was not looking forward to carrying that role on her back for the next four years. If she were to come back tonight and not keep her word, she is going to be hounded about playing Palin for the rest of her life. She might be anyway, but if she sticks to her decision, fewer people will bug her.

Tina Fey Fires Herself as Sarah Palin

Oprah may have been vibrating out in Chicago, but Tina Fey nearly burst with relief at Sarah Palin's expulsion back to Alaska on Tuesday. "I have to retire just because I have to do my day job,” she told Entertainment Weekly this morning, suggesting Kristin Wiig as her flute-rockin', pageant-walkin' heiress apparent should Palin persist as figure worthy of late-night ridicule. We agree, if only to provide a cannier doppelganger for all those confused, frustrated European photo agencies.

3. Too bad
she'd have enough material for years.

Sarah won't go away.

4. I said it would
be on SNL the second I saw it.

I wrote TV comedy for quite a few years and this would have been a gift for a show like SNL the week of Thanksgiving. And yes, it could be done quite easily and with a talent like Tina Fey, no problem...

I am betting it will be on tonight. :D

6. It's too bad all the shows are going into the Thanksgiving break.
I was looking forward to not only SNL but Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert giving it their best. Also, Bill Maher wrapped up his season last Friday. Imagine what he would have done with it. It looks like Governor Palin was sitting under her lucky stars.

8. Well they could just skip Fey
They could get a stunt double, interview the turkey and stuff the stunt double into the "turkey machine".

9. Kristen Wiig has been suggested for it
Look, glasses, a brown wig, and a Fargo style accent. Its not the hardest impersonation to do.

10. Good call. Wig could do a great Palin and make it her own.
The trick is to not simply do an impression of Fey doing Palin.
