This would be a good trade off.....
Ok, so Obama puts Clinton types in in the Cabinet. But he gives them progressive assistants(drawing, for example from Prog. Caucus Congressional staffers, "community activist" types, bright grad student types)and sets up an internship program specifically designed to give younger progressive types the training they'll need in the future to understand "how Washington works".

That sounds like it could be workable. What does everybody else think?

3. Progressives had Chairs of Committees in Congress
the last two years but were controlled and not allowed to exercise their power fully without threat of losing it. We need a change in attitude in the Democratic party where some aren't treated as pariahs and given jobs as potted plants.

5. I think that's usually how it works most of the time anyway.
Staffers for big time Dem politicos are usually more liberal than their bosses. I'd bet a survey of Dem Senate staffers would reveal a way more liberal outlook than the caucus members themselves. The young are usually more idealistic...

plus, that's how the Illuminati brainwash the up-and-comers... :P
