Was the Palin turkey thing initially just being filmed by local news channels?
Edited on Fri Nov-21-08 04:05 PM by Mike Daniels
I can't imagine national news people were out in Alaska to watch Sarah do something that happens in every state (Turkey pardoning).

If it was local/state news only, I can see why Sarah wasn't overly concerned with the background. As another thread pointed out, this is how food gets from the farm to your plate and somehow I think Alaskans are probably not as removed from this type of thing as a lot of lower 48'ers may be.

That said, what this does show is that neither Sarah or her media people are able to foresee how something like this could become national news nor are they able to see past how things can be percieved outside of an Alaska POV.

Either way, if Sarah doesn't get people who understand that your base isn't going to be enough to win you an election it could be a fun 3 to 4 year run to the 2012 election.

3. It was actually the first time it's ever been done in AK, according to another post
They definitely did seem to have a clue what they were doing.

Sarah was, once again, willing to do anything to say in the spotlight.

4. Some people never have meat hit their plates...
And Sarah Palin is such an idiot that she doesn't realize everything she does, every word she utters, every idiotic thing she gets herself attached to is going to be broadcast because she is such a freaking train wreck.

She and "her people" are idiots of the highest order. Certifiable.

5. You'd think the dipshit would figure out that she's in the national spotlight
And that pretty much any news interview / appearance she does will likely be national...

6. Agreed. Esp. since she's all but announced she's running in 2012
Sorry, Sarah...but you're not just in Alaska anymore. The quicker you realize that the more "credible" you'll appear.

7. That was the best turkey pardoning ever---and the best video..
..It couldn't have been planned any better. The silly glances fron the turkey executioner--as she blabbers away with that beaming smile...

8. Regardless who filmed it, it just seems rather thoughtless to pardon
one turkey and then give an interview while other turkeys are being slaughtered in the background. It doesn't matter how removed you may be from this type of thing, the irony remains.

9. I believe it was just local news crews who were out there,
but I'm wondering if KTUU wasn't pulling a bit of a prank on the guv, otherwise how would the uncut and unedited version have made it out to the internet, particularly being framed as it was.
