Man with assault rifle nabbed on way to D.C.
BALTIMORE | A man who mentioned the White House and other landmarks before boarding a Washington-bound commuter train with an assault rifle was captured Wednesday after breaking an ankle while running from two officers, police said.

Police said they arrested Asa Seeley, 25, of Baltimore, before the MARC train left the West Baltimore station for the District.

Mr. Seeley was taken into police custody for treatment at the University of Maryland Medical Center, police Commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld III said.

A taxi driver flagged down Officer Joshua Corcoran near the station about 7 a.m. Wednesday after dropping off a passenger he had refused to drive to the District, Commissioner Bealefeld said.

The driver said the man carried a towel or a blanket with a rifle butt protruding from it, Commissioner Bealefeld said.

Boy are they coming out of the woodwork since 11/5. Good thing the authorities are being watchful.

4. According to the article he had a Chinese SKS rifle.
It is NOT an "assault rifle". It does not fit the definition.
They are obsolete, rebuilt Chinese military rifles that have a fixed, 10 round magazine. The Chinese called them the "Type 56" after the year they were adopted.

They used to be sold for around $70. Then they were "banned", which served to increase the price. They are no longer imported, but the many thousands in the US are selling for $250 or so to collecters, and , yes, to deer hunters.

It is very possible this guy was trying to get away from police because he had a criminal record and is not legally allowed to have any type of gun, and that all this has nothing to do with politics.

5. Who was this guy after
The article isn't clear about that. Maybe it's too soon to tell.

Does this guy think he's another DC sniper?
