I have good health care where I work. It cost me $5100.00 a year. My employer matches that.

So, it's costing us $10,200.00 a year to cover my wife and I.

So raise my taxes, it will save me $2100.00 a year and my employer $5100.00 a year.

My employer and I have debated this for over a year and I got him to agree to give me a $2500.00 a year raise if I'm right.

So, raise my taxes Barack. Please.

2. I agree
Insurance premiums are obscene. Then when you try to use the benefits, they fight you and make you pay deductibles and use drugs on their lists. Yuck!

3. I have a small business and it costs $25,000 a year to insure three people.
We are 'due' for a rate hike next month. As the economy tanks it is getting almost impossible to pay this. I hope that the new administration can work something out.

5. If you were in the UK
the cost would be 12.8% of gross over c. £5000 with no upper limit. For comparison I'll let you do the arithmetic on that.

In addition your employees would pay 11% of gross above c. £5000 up to a limit of c. £36000 and then 1% over that. The combination of empoyers and employees contributions covers healthcare and state pension , and also covers those unable to contribute including of course children.

6. I pay....
$4,344.00 per year for the absolute minimum coverage and a $2,500.00 deductable. So...I'm fine being taxed $3,000.00 per year.
