It just boggles the mind. All we had to do was strip Joe of his chairmanship. There was no censure, nothing like that. Just get him out of his chairmanship.

1. Do we need change - or not?
Maybe Obama is more like Mandela than one realizes.

4. That's it.
Justice is only a pipe dream in this case.

5. Bush/Cheney were never going to be punished ever.
No President has ever prosecuted his predecessor, and Obama never even suggested that he would be the first.

8. It is a fraternity of sorts, albeit a highly exclusive one.

16. It has nothing to do with fraternity.
Believe it or not, Washington does not operate on the same petty level your personal life does.

6. We can't expect accountability for the Cheney Administration
It's just as simple as that.

It is very clear that Obama's approach to high level criminals is to simply let the past be the past.

7. He's an idea... Stop hoping for Bush & Cheney to be "punished"
I hope they slide silently into history. Punishing them now, whatever that means, does nothing to fix the destruction of this country.

11. Maybe that's why they sat back and let it "destruct" - they knew it would
create major priorities that would make their punishment seem low ball and petty in comparison.

10. We better get used to it. I don't think there is going to be "payback" at
any level - even for Bush administration skulduggery, war crimes, etc.

Obama is not into retribution - he has other things on his plate and it just isn't something he does, historically.

I hate it but that's just going to be the way that it is.

12. This move pretty much sinks our chances of voting him out next time too
Since the "dems" support him, why wouldn't the people of CT?

13. EXACTLY. Eight long years of lies and betrayals and we're supposed to accept....
this smarmy little weasel back in the fold. I've had enough lies, swindles and betrayal in sitting government officials to last me a lifetime. I'm not happy.

15. Where did you get the idea that Bush and Cheney will ever be punished?
they have gotten thru there entire terms without punishment and Obama is not going to go after them. So where are they going to be punished?
