Why are people turning on Harry Reid over the Joe Lieberman thing?
Is it because you just don't like the guy? I've seen numerous posts suggesting that Reid is as spineless as ever because our senators might vote for Joe to keep his top post as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and caucus as a Democrat.

Well, it's all our pro-Lieberman senators, including President-elect Barack Obama, who should be questioned about that, not Harry Reid. Reid was doing just fine talking tough about removing Lieberman until Obama stepped in and threw his support towards Joe Lieberman, himself.

President-elect Barack Obama has informed party officials that he wants Joe Lieberman to continue caucusing with the Democrats in the 111th Congress, Senate aides tell the Huffington Post.

Obama's decision could tie the hands of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, who has been negotiating to remove Lieberman as chair of the Homeland Security and Government Reform

1. First, that's not exactly what Obama said.
He didn't say he wanted Lieberman. He said it wouldn't bother him if Lieberman stayed in our caucus.

And Obama didn't say anything at all about Lieberman's committee chairmanships; so if the Dems vote for Lieberman to keep his Homeland Security chairmanship, we can't point to Obama for that one.

2. Apparently, you didn't hear Obama speak on this last week
nor did you read any of the articles, including this one that is posted in the OP.

3. i don't recall hearing Obama weigh in on the committee chairmanship
Obama has no control over the appointments to committees. All he said was he'd like to have Lieberman continue to caucus with the Dems. Didn't say jack shit about kicking him off the chairmanship.

It's up to Reid to deal with Loserman's committee assignment, not Obama.

6. If it doesn't bother you that Obama & some senators want Lieberman to stay with us, then so be it
You're either for Lieberman or you're not. There is no in-between.

12. I don't give a flying fuck what Loserman does AFTER he is stripped of his chairmanship
If Obama wants to keep him in the caucus, and the caucus votes him off the committee, then he has a decision to make. If he wants to run crying to the the repubs, it'll be him that looks stupid not Obama or the Dem caucus.

Besides I don't think the repubs want the whiney little bastard either.

4. Obama didn't say that--he only said that he wanted to stay out of it.

9. Here is what his spokespeople said
"We aren't going to referee decisions about who should or should not be a committee chair," Obama spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said in a statement Tuesday. "President-elect Obama looks forward to working with anyone to move the country forward. We'd be happy to have Sen. Lieberman caucus with the Democrats. We don't hold any grudges."

11. I don't read that at all. I read that Obama wants him to caucus, but isn't going to get involved in
LIEberman's demands for an important chair.
