My wife and I have new hobby. Check WHO donated to WHOM?!?
it is a laugh riot seeing who some famous people donated to. One link to such information is here:

http://fundrace.huffingtonpost.com/neighbors.php?type=name&lname=Streisand&fname=Barbara&search=Search

Just put in a first name and last name and see what comes up.

We were interested in how many of our "politically active" friends and associates actually didn't donate (or donated so little they weren't on this list).

But check out Matt Damon, Ben Afflek, Bill Maher, etc.

It is interesting.

2. I won't ask how much your donations were....
but my small donation to John Kerry doesn't show up. My larger donation and wife's larger donation show up for Obama and Edwards for this cycle.

Also, if you donated an amount late in the cycle it might not show up yet.

3. Only donations greater than $200 are recorded, IIRC.

If you donate $100 ten times, you won't show up. If you donate $1000 once, you will.

6. Hm. It says "individual donations of $200 or more since 1978," though I wouldn't be surprised
if a few smaller ones crept through. None of mine show up, though the biggest individual one I sent was $50.

7. We gave a bunch of less than $200 donations, and none of them are on these sites.
Interesting.

9. Very interesting. I put in my zip code and a lot of names came
up for people I know in my city. The people whom I know, who came up as donating Republican, are all well to do, own large businesses, are for the most part - members of the local country club type, and I personally know to be arrogant assess. One is my cousin. Most of the doctors in town came up as donating to Democrats. As well as the common people like me. Very interesting indeed. But I guess not surprising. Now I feel like I just invaded someone's privacy.

10. yeah...but they opt in to the system when they donate
as do we all. I have no problem proclaiming my support of Barack and I'll do it again in 2012

11. Omigosh! I'm listed! It says I gave $230, which I did, but not all at once. I was

very motivated after the RNC, but not THAT much as I recall!

On edit: I couldn't think of anyone I personally know who was rich enough to donate much!

15. I searched my town
and my hometown. I think it's cool but it's also very creepy. While I did not donate this election cycle (I'm one of the millions who lost a job this year), I'm not sure if I would want my name out there, especially while job hunting.

17. I would VERY much like to 'check out Matt Damon.'

But I think his wife (darn it, why did he have to go and marry someone other than me?) would have something to say about that. ;)

18. Not very accurate
Which is good, my wife will never figure out how much I contributed to Obama.

Very interesting that searching my last name came up with approx. 70% Democratic donations.
