Should Kerry Only Talk Economy And Health Care Until November?
Personally, I would love for Kerry to call Bush a peacock that prefers tough-talk to competent military strategy and ask Bush at the debates why he used warlords to get Osama, but that's what I want to hear.

I think the way for Kerry to win this thing is to forget everything else, but make a very concise argument for turning around the economy (outsourcing polls very well) and making a health care plan that will pass Congress.

Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat.

As much as I want to hear about energy independence, I'm willing to let it drop. And as much as I'd love for Kerry to slam Bush, I think he should turn all arguments back to these same two points.

We need to make people say, "Oh Kerry, he's the _______ guy." Kerry needs to fill in the blank, and it needs to involve these issues.

Of course, his surrogates are free to pursue a fuller - but COORDINATED!!!! - approach, but Kerry needs to sharpen his candidacy to a fine point. Three to five words, tops.

My question to you is: What would you put in that blank?

1. Kerry is the BETTER GOVERNANCE guy.
Bush is a longtime political operative who only knows how to campaign for what he wants, but is incompetent at actual governing and especially derelict at governing ALL of America.

Kerry is the man for HONEST GOVERNMENT. He investigated and exposed more government corruption and at the same time shut down more terrorist funding than any lawmaker in modern history.

6. I don't understand not fighting the terrorism issue
Isn't Bush campaigning on terrorism kind of like Clinton campaigning on marital fidelity.

Why can't he simply say to the America do you feel safer now, than you did 2 years ago? Do you feel safer now than you did on September 10th?

Revive Bush's old line results matter. Then talk about some of the results
Al Qaeda membership has increased drastically since 9/11
Terrorism has increased drastically since 9/11
Anti American sentiment is at an all time high
We've alienated the people who used to stand with us
By going after the wrong country we have only strengthened them.

7. I agree. Kerry was one of the first lawmakers to go after terrorists and
their funding. His investigations closed down the terrorists' bank BCCI., and he did so while most of the Bush1 administration was working to stop him by covering up their dealings with the bank and the funding of terrorists by their crinies around the world.

Had BCCI been allowed to be fully vetted we would have been able to stop terror at its roots long before 9-11. Too bad so many GOP thugs worked to STOP Kerry's investigations into the terror banks. Just imagine if more Republicans cared more about this country than covering up and protecting their own profits with these dirty dealers and terrorists.

2. That would be a great idea...
With a normal media concerned with the public well-being. Talking about those issues, though, gets you on page A-18, while the controversial stuff goes on A-1.

3. He should talk relentlessly about Shrub's record
He has to pull a Reagan: Are you better off? Is the country better off? Is the world better off? What has this guy done the last four years that you want four more years of? So far on his watch we've had a terrorist attack, two wars and economic catstrophe for millions of families.

4. Absolutely not!!
He needs to attack Bush on national security. WE ARE NOT SAFER. There are tons more terrorists and millions more hate us (feeding the terrorist pool) due to Junior's aggression and recklessness. People understand if you attack a country that was attacking you, or is about to. But the whole world (except for some dumbass freepers) knows that Saddam wasn't about to do squat to us and didn't have the capacity if he had wanted to. Every terrorism expert who is nonpartisan will agree that the Iraq war has directly increased the number of terrorists and the threat of terrorism.

See today's David Ignatius in the WP. He thinks this could/should be Bush's biggest vulnerability, and I totally agree.
