Obama’s New Lobbying and Communications Machine!
Edited on Wed Nov-12-08 10:11 PM by Lerrad
Yes, you can be part of Obama’s new lobbying and communications machine. As most of you are aware Obama has built a very extensive e-mail list with millions of contacts.

Obama has plans to use this database as a new tool to help accomplish his goals in the White House, by involving millions of Americans to help him pressure congress.

The transition operations new web site is http://www.change.gov. People are invited to submit their names and e-mail addresses at this web site.

Obama to pioneer Web outreach as president

NEW YORK – Transition officials call it Obama 2.0 — an ambitious effort to transform the president-elect's vast Web operation and database of supporters into a modern new tool to accomplish his goals in the White House. If it works, the new president could have an unprecedented ability to appeal for help from millions of Americans who already favor his ideas, bypassing the news media to pressure Congress.

3. I knew it.
The first time I received a cell text message from the Obama campaign I saw the potential and knew that they would have further use for their network beyond the campaign.

My first thought was that they could call up mass peaceful resistance if the election was obviously stolen. Thinking further, I realized that if they did make it into the White House they could and most likely would use it to have their supporters lobby congress. Looks like I was right. This guy knows how to utilize technology! This is the 21st century version of what Repug Richard Viguerie did with direct mail, and it's more powerful, cheaper, and faster.

The times they are a changin'!

13. Yes.
I signed up at change.gov because I'm not sure if it's the same email list as the one for the campaign site (which I am also on).

5. I was hoping for a geek President with Al Gore.
That didn't happen. But it looks like I've gotten my wish with Obama. :D
