23. Wolf said there would be more later.
Also, I don't understand why they continue to play that call-in from Killian's widow stating that he wouldn't do anything like keeping private notes. How in the heck does she know? Was she attached to him 24/7? I don't think so. She's just a dittoheaded bush supporter that will say anything to keep that dumbass in the WH.

34. Still in limbo....still just a diversion.
Wife actually sort of vague..."he didn't USUALLY take notes, he didn't have time" she didn't dispute the signature, or they didn't ask her....we don't know her politics.
Nobody can tell "for sure" without the original documents but the docs released by the thugs in the White House ALSO showed the "th" as it was available on typewriters since 1968. ONE "expert" says it looks "more like it was produced on a computer using Times Roman" and they haven't got anything else to dispute it.

I doubt Rather would let himself in for a bashing without having his facts straight. They showed the nasty Rather/H.W Bush clip where Poppy said "how would YOU like it if you were judged by the seven minutes you walked off the set".....showing those truly nasty Bushy colors of venom. The Bush family is a group of money grubbing thugs. Always have been, always will be. Nasty to the core..each and every one of them from Prescott on down.

As others have said and Wolfie's show just reiterated, "it still leaves more questions to be answered." And Wolfie said, "I'm sure we haven't heard the last" of it or something similar. So thank you freepers for bringing it up.

Now, let's talk about Morton Blackwell's lengthy relationship with Karl Rove and how he handed out "purple heart bandaids" at the RNC Hatefest, shall we, you assholes?

13. Dan Rather briefly says the story is true
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 04:13 PM by librechik
Wolfie goes into EXHAUSTIVE DETAIL about all the forgery accusations, including a filmed segment, and a studio discussion. Their conclusion: they go along with the forgery idea, of course. They are back with the "proportional type impossible" assertion, rely heavily on the testimony of Killian's Bush-loving widow, and claim the signature is inconsistent.

Wolfie says he will run the entire press conference today with Rather later in the show. Why later? I suppose a bit of creative editing is called for.

19. This signature thing is crap...
Sometimes my signature is not consistent. I am not always need, sometimes I'm in a hurry, sometimes I'm writing on an unsteady surface, somedays the old synapses just fire differently, and my handwriting has differed a bit in various periods of my life. I didn't think there was all that much difference in those signatures.

14. About his wife's claim they are fake
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 04:11 PM by Feeney2
Is there anyone out there who has a spouse that may require a job that might have taking memo's and notes? Why would they have any idea about what their spouse is doing on their job. My wife has a huge paper trail and I have no idea about anything, I mean ANYTHING, what she does. Why would killan's wife be privy to her husband's work notes. It makes no sense. At least to me.

why on earth would she know a confidential thing like that?

I believe the other commanding officer, Hodges, who agrees that Killian wrote it, and was familiar with the substance.

36. When my father died we couldn't believe the crap he had files on
I think he saved every paycheck stub he received since he started working. He had notes on just about every meeting with anyone he had talked to throughout his entire career and we certainly didn't pay any attention, or know about his files until after he died--

The woman is full of crap how would she know what he did at work!

15. CNN: Bunch of Assholes!

This was a bullshit piece;

Arguing about the veracity of the documents rather than content.

CBS just issued a statement saying superscript was available all the way back to 1968 and the same superscript appears in other documents released by the WH.

These people do not "Investigate" anything anymore. They are so afraid that other affiliates will beat them to a story that they spit out anything that comes their way without checking the facts.

39. MSNBC's report was really bad
It was very one sided. It took the opinion of some Associated Press "expert" who evidently analyzed the PDF file and said it was a fake. They conveniently failed to mention that CBS' experts thought they were genuine and that they had the physical documents to analyze, not a 150dpi scan in a PDF file. Whoever that reporter was, I wish he'd move on to Fox News.

37. By saying "some," those loosemouth Dems could easily be US.
Conceivably, all MSNBC would have to do is go to a Democrat-rich website, find a handful of people who doubt the authenticity of the documents, and BAM!

We are "some Democrats." They didn't say "high-level Democrats."

41. For a little calming of hysteria-
Having been around military a lot, I happen to know that nobody, but nobody who has had to fly a desk for any amount of time keeps all his notes "in his head." This just is not done. What if you get shot? Your duty is to your men, even if you're dead, to try to make sure they are taken care of. Also, anyone who has any real experience, especially when called upon to do or say things that may be less than defensible, will keep a cover your ass file, somewhere. By definition a cya file isn't something you spread around to anyone without a need to know, especially your family-you keep them as safe as you can!
