The media is covering palin (a) because people are interested in her, whether they despise her or love her and (b) because as much as you might want them to report on what Obama is doing in the run up to taking the reins of government, the Obama team has decided (correctly in my view) to put a clamp on people speaking to the media. Just like their very disciplined campaign, the Obama team in ensuring that the message is controlled and timed just as they want it. They are more than happy to have the media falling over themselves to talk to Palin, who reminds most Democrats and a lot of others what a cartoon she is every time she opens her mouth. Let her prattle on. And then when Obama speaks, people will be reminded that there is presidential and there is bozo the clown.

As much as I see nothing redeeming about this person, there is one positive, and that is: If this is the person representing the R party, then I think we might want to bite our tongues and let them go right ahead with it.

There are FAR better equipped R's than this one, and personally, I don't think she's going to get very much past her 15 minutes in the limelight, but if she does, she'd be a preferable opponent, in my view. The more we point out how inept she is, the more the R's will rethink her usefulness (perhaps).

I've heard for the last several days that she "will" be a top representative of the GOP, "if" (this coming from R's themselves) she bones up on her obvious learning curve.

Thing is - she could do that... study her diminutive brain out, but no matter how good her geography or memorized facts and figures, she cannot overcome her intellectual, ethical and emotional mediocrity and lack of maturity. She's not a teenager who can mature and outgrow these things. In 4 years she may have a better handle on the details of foreign policy after studying hard, but she will still have the intellectual deficit of someone who is not built to lead.

I say let 'em build her up... but isn't something I look forward to having to be subjected to...
