Correction: Obama-National Security story

WASHINGTON – In a Nov. 11 story about President-elect Obama's transition operation, The Associated Press erroneously reported that Obama has hired veteran Democrats Sam Nunn and Warren Christopher to head his transition teams at the Pentagon and State Department. Nunn "will play an informal senior adviser role" for the transition, and Christopher has no role, Obama spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter said.

Two or three more weeks of this.

Christopher not to head state transition team: spokeswoman

WASHINGTON (AFP) – Former US secretary of state Warren Christopher will not be heading up president-elect Barack Obama's transition team in the State Department, Obama officials said Wednesday.

Transition spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter denied reports that Christopher, who was secretary of state from 1993 to 1997, had been tapped for the role.

"Secretary Christopher is deeply respected in the United States and throughout the international community. However, he is not playing a role in the transition process," Cutter said in a statement. "There's a lot of disinformation out there."

Cutter confirmed Senator Sam Nunn was aiding the transition process at the Pentagon to smooth the way before Obama takes over on January 20.

3. Frankly, it's becoming ridiculous.
It's one thing to speculate, but they're making false announcements.
