Mid-afternoon update so that you can get an early jump on 'happy hour'. The media whores have been shilling basically 3 points until early afternoon and now have added #4.

The points in order are:

1. Hey, listeners, did you know that the documents in that CBS/Rather report are probably FORGED!! (yes, yes, FORGED--gasp, gasp--imagine someone doing that do that nice President Bush).

2. We have given the documents to FORENSIC EXPERTS and they say they are probably forged. (yes, FORENSIC EXPERTS---we are reeling you in now, aren't we, you ingnorant bastards 'cause we know you love those CSI dramas and Court TV and all that "forensics are the gospel truth" shit).

3. CBS/Rather are denying the report and say the documents are real. We'll see. (whatever, baby, YOU are going to either believe they are forged or have a real big doubt in your mind because we are devoted to our mission for the God King).

and then came #4 early afternoon:

4. You know what, folks??? If these documents are forged (and we will make damn sure you believe it no matter what), then this is no longer about Viet Nam service; it's all about the desperate, losing Kerry campaign who has sunk to new levels in dirty propaganda. Hey did you hear he's opened up leads in a bunch of key states and some way beyond the margin of error!!!! (Psssst...go add that to your belief that there is something 'fishy' about Kerry's Nam record and we can call up the WH and tell them to pour an extra Scotch for Rove and the God King tonight).

DUers, Rather better not only stand behind his story but he better have experts on the "typewriter" business on refuting everything. Probably won't. Even if he did, these animals will not let it go but have a whole parade of "experts" for the next 3 weeks making sure the public's mind is cleared of any nasty thoughts about Bush.

Everyone whined that Kerry would be 'tainted' by the Swift Boat liars and their spiel. So bush* will be tainted by all the stuff that's finally coming out about him. He doesn't have some kind of protective shield from scandal. Like even bush* says, this stuff has been bandied about for years. The difference now is that it's really being investigated, looked into. Before he got a free pass.

All this angst isn't doing any good. Let the media hash this out while we work to get Kerry elected.

10. Almighty Woman of the Cat----was here on DU all morning.

While eating lunch and getting ready to leave, I turned on TV and flipped from CNN to MSNBC to CNN Headline News, to Bloomberg, to CNBC (skipped Fox)for all of 20 minutes. It was enough to see the update of what they are doing. Am I permitted that?? Perhaps we all should see what is going out all over the country as we sit and chat because that's the impression that the sheep are getting and a foretaste of the feast to come as they dish out the slop piece by piece.

I don't believe for one second that someone in the DNC or Kerry camp could be so dumb as to forge these documents. The risk was far too great to do something that stupid. That's why I believe that they have to be authentic. Also, Rather is no dummy. If they were such obvious forgeries, he or his vetters would have caught it.

Last time I looked I wasn't Wolfe Blitzer!!!! I said that this is what they, THE MEDIA, are now trying to hint at with their "reports". My god I've been through all the typewriter stuff for 5 hours here at DU. I know it front and backwards. THEY ARE NOT SAYING ANY OF THAT TO THE PEOPLE---get the picture??? That PROOF is not being discussed on the networks. They are just shouting "we gave it to Forensics Experts who say it's probably fake" blah, blah. And now, by afternoon, they are adding the shit on the Kerry campaign talking point to the end of their smear. They are trying to make people feel that IF it's a fake, it has to be coming from the Kerry camp.
