As the founder of C-Span, he has extensive knowledge of and experience in media, is well-educated, and commands a depth of knowledge about - well, anything that really matters in the world of politics. He has been around the Washington scene, seems to live and breathe the media, and is super intelligent (just like many of the people Obama has surrounded himself with). He carries a sense of personal integrity that few in DC do. (see

He has always come to his one-on-one interviews on C-span well-prepared and asking the type of thoughtful questions that can only be asked by someone who has done their homework and researched his interviewee and read their book cover to cover. I feel he would do no less as the head of FCC. I think he would be someone the folk in DC would take very seriously.
