...is that Republicans would never EVER display any doubt about any source of theirs that would discredit a Republican, they would immediately circle the wagons, dig in, and lie lie lie to fight off any contradictory information, no matter how credible. Ever see any right-winger say, "gee... those Swiftboat guys... are we SURE they're telling the truth?"

But shed even the flimsiest doubt on evidence that backs up a story or theory discrediting a Republican, even from the most unreliable and unworthy of sources - Matt Drudge for God's sake?! - and what happens? Democrats start slitting their wrists and pulling out their hair and bending over backwards to HELP Republicans discredit a story that benefits them. O the Incessant Search for The Truth. We must ALWAYS be right, we must ALWAYS tell the truth, no matter how damaging to our own cause. It's an admirable way to go through life, but it doesn't win elections. Republicans can count on us skewing our own sources just as surely as they can predict the sun rising in the morning. That's all they have to do, just point the way and we'll diligently follow - leaving them free to sit back and enjoy the self-flagellatioin. It's sickening, but it's the curse from which we'll always suffer. People determined to be right will always suffer from their own obsessions with it.

Did anyone at the Dem Convention do anything so low down filthy like wearing purple heard bandaids?

Did anyone at the Dem Convetion do anything so stupid as waving their arms in a windshield flip=flop wave or hold up rubber flip-flops and wave them - some while wearing their pearl necklaces and suits and ties?

Are the Kerry or Edwards families as loaded up with crud as the Bush family?

Whose words and messages are above the board in decency and decorum?

Name the Rove counterpart on the Dem side - right there is no one.

Name the Dem counterparts who run an orchestrated attack machine comparable to the NRA-born again-corporate-PNAC-Federalist Society-cabal-CEO machine.

From my contacts, the vets who are waffling on why they are attacking K are not winning anyone over. Most people are repulsed.

We have the Bev Harris team working night and day to protect our vote.

The letters to the editors are flying.

The cartoonists and caricaturists are blazing.

We know Time, Newsweek, USA Today, WSJ, WP, and many others lie with their statistics.

Everyone now knows without doubts that the cable programs are murderering our citizen rights to a news.

...be honest, be fair, be right, absolutely! I would not be comfortable backing a man who would actively do something underhanded, I would not be comfortable backing a pathological liar, and I would not support someone as corrupt as anyone from the Bush family.

Why is it incumbent upon US to debunk the things that make George Bush and the Republicans look bad? That's the freepers' job.
No one is suggesting that we promote lies but why is it that everyone is immediately willing to backtrack at the mere SUGGESTION that something might not be what it first seems? The MOST we should be doing is taking a "wait and see" approach...we should NOT be jumping on the "documents are forgeries" bandwagon.

...the post was entitled "The difference between Democrats and Republicans." A more analogous question would be, what would the FR board look like if reversed? You would NEVER see their board literally flooded with threads debunking something that benefits their candidate.

The burden of proof should be on THEM. It's not up to us, Democrats didn't even uncover it, it was a 60 Minutes story. Why do we feel it necessary to debunk it?
