One of my all-time favorite films, directed (and co-written) by the great Billy Wilder.

1. Fabulous movie. Gloria Swanson should have won an Oscar.
She lost to Judy Holliday in "Born Yesterday," but Norma Desmond is one of the imperishable characters in movie history.

She was only 50 when she made that movie. I feel old.

3. This is a masterpiece...
Every time I watch it, I see subtle things that add to the
story. Incredible. That is what makes it true art:
all the details that add layer upon layer to the story.


I haven't seen the Broadway musical of this story
(Sunset Boulevard)... does anyone know if its worth it?
