Geraldine Ferraro faded into oblivion; many people wonder who the Democrat nominee was in 1988 (Dukakis); once Dan Quayle left the vp office, he was finished------------but the media is obsessed with this Alaskan idiot--no offense to Alaskans.

2. I'm still stupefied over her winding up on the ticket
and still mortified over the hateful snark she dished out from the podium in St. Paul.

It's clear she has her plans set for a run in 2012, and that alone makes her interesting.

10. Kemp, wasn't it?
Quite a well known figure in the 80's but now.. not so much. I think part of it is just a difference in the times... the Internet makes it a lot harder to forget people - everything they do is magnified 1000x.

4. It is pretty ridiculous
I have even come close to feeling sorry for her.

I only said "close".

5. They couldn't let Hillary go for the longest time after the primaries.
The press likes the female candidates, because they hold more fascination and star-power, I guess.

14. Well, in all fairness, Hillary has been on the political scene since 1991
That's a little bit different than some dunce cap that 99.9% of the planet never heard of until August 29.

Clearly, this is all about shoving her into convicted felon Ted Stevens' senate seat. Assuming it's actually still his.

So, apparently we're not able to ignore the ridiculousness of the MSM.

8. One small part is...
America's infatuation with "New".

Presidential level politics is increasingly being dominated by politicians with scant previous high level public records. We saw that with Edwards, Clark and Obama at the Democratic Presidential level. We also saw Webb and Kaine very seriously talked about for Democxratic VP this yeqr, while McCain also flirted with Louisiana Gov. Jandal and Florida's Crisp, all first termers also.

9. Palin's the most bizarre thing to come along in politics in quite a while (and
considering the last 8 years, that's a hell of a distinction). Hence our fascination with her.

Palin promises laughter and outrage dividends well into the new year.

13. Most vice-presidential candidates don't
run up bills at Neiman-Marcus to the tune of $150,000 plus and haul it all home to Bumfuck Alaska in Louis Vuitton luggage. Additionally, most are not declared to be the second coming of certain biblical prophetesses by dangerous fundie nutbags who are persecuting and killing people in Africa and Brazil as we speak.

She is not your average failed pol.

15. No, this is GOOD!
I am hoping this destroys her future presidential chances forever. Pile it on! Keep it coming!!!

The more that comes out about this cretin the better. Finish her off once and for all!!!

17. I have a fascination with photos of medical abnormalities on the internets
I go looking for some terminal thing I can gape at for as long as 10 minutes at a time to horrify and repulse me but making me grateful that I don't have it. Sarah fits into that category.

18. It's not all her fault.
She has been attacked pretty nastily by the old McCain people. She is being given the chance to respond.
